The local potato farmers are mostly under contract to Mc Cains. However one of the farmers sells his seconds in bags by the roadside. $5 for 5 K. These are amazing floury potatoes.  They make wonderful roast potatoes and chips. I either par cook them in the Varoma or microwave and either spray with oil and bake or deep fry. A real advantage to living in cold wet Ballarat.
These are the remains of the mini garlic rolls.  Made 15 this time as the dish was bigger. Nice dipped in the roast pork gravy.

You can usually rely on Jamie's recipes, I bet they were nice Chookie.

I made my ciabatta rolls this morning.  They looked really good going into the oven, just like a 'slipper', was so chuffed.  They came out the size of a double cut roll with all the filling!  :o  The recipe was for 4 but I think formed into 6 would have been better, great if you have a big appetite.  Anyway, I was happy with the Fermentation mode to prove the dough.  Next time I'm game enough to make any sort of bread, I will use it again.  ;D

Some lovely cooking happening ladies.
My kitchen has been a bit quiet.  Did make a loaf of No Fuss Bread and another Date Loaf during visits to the hospital.  This morning I caramalized some onions  and fried some bacon to put on baked potatoes for dinner tonight.

I have a Classic loaf cooking and have my rye starter growing to make a loaf. I ended up having to put it out in the sun to help it along.

I cooked my rye SD today. I also made rolls for tonight’s Halloumi burgers and DD and I created some Sultana and Apple scrolls using Chookie’s No Fuss recipe as the base. They have just come out of the oven.
