K ATIE, the baking dishes are amazing. I think they are Spanish.  I have several in different sizes. They are not expensive, clean up easily . Bought them at The Essential Ingredient in Melbourne. These small ones fit into the Philips AF.
Visitors for lunch.  We taste tested the Sausages from Country Style Smallgoods.  They were lovely.  We had Toulouse and garlic and pepper. Cooked them with roasted Capsicums and a little onion. Mashed potatoes and green beans.

Lots of good cooking Chookie. I will have to have a look at the pans too.

It’s DH’s birthday tomorrow and I usually make a cake of some sort as family drop by for coffee & cake.  I wanted to do something a bit different this year and picked a recipe off Cookidoo called Hedgehog slice.  You make honeycomb first using the ‘Sugar Stages’ mode which I hadn’t used as yet.  I took note to add the precise amounts individually so the machine knows you are adding the correct amounts.  It’s a guided recipe and it worked as it said it would.

I used golden syrup instead of honey as I’d read that version was nicer than honey.  Was so pleased with the end result. It really tasted like honeycomb, didn’t expect it to be honest.  Left it to cool for about an hour then finished the slice off.  The other additions were roasted macadamias and chopped shortbread.

I’m not a chocolate person at all but I really liked the little piece I had, DH loved it.  Am looking forward to seeing if others enjoy it too.

Much more work went into your hedgehog slice than the normal easy one Julie and it looks so delicious.  The family will enjoy it.  Happy birthday to your DH for tomorrow.

Does polenta make nice biscuits cookie, how do they differ from flour based bikkies?

Julie, that looks delicious.
Cookie, lovely cookies. I love Manderin in baking.  I dry the zest so that I always have some on hand.
Might make some more Portuguese Custard Tarts.  Gave the leftovers to GC yesterday for their after school snack.  They also devoured the Lemon Feather Cakes.

I think the semolina just makes the cookies a little crunchier Judy. The mob are enjoying them.

Chookie I’m excited , going to have a look on line at the baking dishes . Great baking everyone. JulieO is that honeycomb you made for the chocolate hedgehog slice ? Cookie the manderine polenta cookies are on my list too. Chookie sausages sound great . Yesterday I made cinnamon scrolls , took ages to double in size so cooked late last night and went to ice today ... no creamed cheese ! Used lemon icing ! not nice ! Try again when I get the creamed cheese .

Yes Katie, this recipe.  I used golden syrup instead of honey and used roasted and salted macadamias.  I liked the little bit of salt here and there when having a nibble.  You use a 20x30cm pan but only cut into small squares so seems to make heaps. I enjoyed making it.  ;D

Thanks Judy, DH had a nice day.  We went to the local garden shop to have a look around and there was a caravan parked in the car part that was selling fish & chips etc so we bought King George whiting and chips which was a nice treat.
Turned into a very cold and drizzly day but was nice and cozy sitting in our new lounge  ;D

Thanks chookie and cookie.  :D

I made some Choc Chip cookies today. They are a firm favourite here. Today I wrapped the dough round a Haigh’s Milk Chocolate Orange Pastile that DD had bought. I had one and they are nice.

Cookie, what a great idea.
The Jamie Oliver Chicken recipe was very nice. The chicken moist and certainly a fuss free recipe.  I strained the sauce as I didn’t like the look of the slightly curdled milk. Will certainly make again but will add more lemon rind and more sage.
Need to fill biscuit tin again and make more SD crumpets.
