All this talk about 5 seed bread makes me want to make another loaf - only ever made 1 before in my early days of not being a very good bread maker but have far more confidence now and should give it another go.  Maybe towards the end of the week I can fit this one in.

Came home from the Agrarian Kitchen with a loaf of bread and the recipe.  It contains some rye , wholemeal and white bread flour.   It was cooked in a wood fired oven.   It has a fine , even texture,  with a slight fermented flavor.   It is made with a pre-ferment which is a nice alternative for those who don't have a sour dough starter.  You start it 12/16 hours before adding all the ingredients.I have converted it to the TMX and will finish it tomorrow,  if OK will post.

It does sound yummy Chookie.

Well I attempted to make some macarons. It is wet here today which I think doesn't help as they are taking a while to dry. I put the almond meal, icing sugar and cocoa into the bowl to blend into a fine flour and of course didn't think that the TMX is much faster than an ordinary blender. After 45 seconds it started to melt together. Disaster. I decided to press on and now I have the first choc chip macarons waiting to dry in wet weather. I know they will still taste nice but what a disaster after Trissa's great class. I will post a photo if they aren't too awful looking.

Don't fall over with surprise folks - I'm still around, just easily distracted!
Not a good day for my waist today.  All the kids are away until Friday, but the urge to bake came upon me.  I suspect that I am just delaying sitting down and writing, really.  I have made some brownies, some cookies from The British Larder - http://www.britishlarder.co.uk/salted-peanut-brittle-biscuits/#axzz0yEvsYali - and a loaf of Isi's bread.
Now the Husband and I  have to eat it all!

Judy, it was great to see you and Geoff the other week - hope we can catch up properly some time soon!

I didn't use the TMX for the egg whites but Trissa does. I mainly used it to grind sugars and almond meal. Next time I'm going to try Trissa's recipe on here.

Not sure if I'll be brave enough to do the egg whites though.

I can't remember what i made but i've beaten the egg whites before with good results, using Butterfly,  37o, Speed 3, 2-4 minutes. (time required apparently depends on the freshness of the eggs - v. fresh takes 1.30 minutes for 2 eggs). This tip was from this forum somewhere...

Today finished the Rustic Bread from the Agrarian Kitchen.  It takes a long time but is certainly worth the effort.  Have posted the recipe.   Also made another batch of Sour Dough English Muffins,  still not completely happy with the result although no one else is complaining.  Also made a mix of shallots, garlic and ginger to use in stir fry.  Will test tonight and post tomorrow if OK.

It was indeed Amanda.  Now why was I not surprised to see you outside your favourite coffee shop  :D :D  Love to meet up again for coffee again whenever it suits you. I think Trudy might be away at the moment though.

I did 4 egg whites for a lemon meringue pie yesterday in the TMX using JD's method and they worked perfectly.  :)

The last few days I've made the custards for raspberry and coffee ice creams (delish), veg stock concentrate (32 cubes now frozen) and today I made Chookie's white rolls that I saw on another thread.  They turned out so good, and sooo easy.

The only change I made was to put cold water into TM bowl with the sugar and yeast and heat 37C/3 mins/speed 1 1/2, rest for about 3 mins, then added rest of ingredients along with 2 tsp bread improver, then kneaded for 4 mins.  I did the heat thing so the bowl would have a bit of residual heat in it to aid proofing as it's another cold day here today.  These will be made more often now as they were just how we like them, thanks Chookie.  ;D

I have to agree with you JulieO, these were lovely.

Chookie how about posting your recipe in the bread section where it can be found easier  :-* :-*
