We will be over there in Melbourne the week after next, please find some nice weather for us. Mind you, ours is not much better in Adelaide but thankfully no snow where we are.
Today I made the macaroni beef and it is delicious.

I am going to attempt to convert my chestnut cream soup (Chestnut Bisque) to the TMX.   For many years I have made this, after prepping and cooking the individual components, in the Vita Mix blender because the soup will scorch if  you look at it cross-eyed, or neglect it for even a moment. 

Results will be posted (good or bad) later this evening. 


Not sure how you went?  I had chestnut soup (wrong season here?) on Saturday at a top restaurant here, might try to see if they used the TMX (I know they have one)

I did not make it after all.  A friend had an emergency and needed help preparing 500 meringue cookies for an event she was catering and by the time I got home was too tired to do anything except fix a sandwich.  Since then I have had fresh meat and poultry that had to be used up so put off preparing the soup. 
I've also been caught up again in the election, working as a volunteer at the local Democratic office.
Plus I've also been working on my blog, adding a lot of photos of my small appliance collections.

Today I made Codfish fillets with citrus butter in the varoma for lunch and JulieO's Family Chowder for tea.

Today I made Fig Mustard from the Demonstrator's Delight Cookbook.Our good friend and neighbour has a birthday in December and I made it as a gift for him.It needs 6-8 weeks for the mustard to mature.Very easy recipe, I might make another jar, if the figs are still on offer at the supermarket.
Also made Judy's Parmesan Potatoes, delicious.Then made chocolate cake and finally steamed veggies to go with supper.

Chookie these are just traditionally crumbled cooked cake, with icing added and rolled into balls and chilled.
You then dip them in melted chocolate and decorate however you wish.  I used a white chocolate brownie version instead this time.
The hair I used vanilla Parisian fairy floss, but I didn't encounter the moisture in the air to deflate their fluffy locks, and make them go flat and sticky  :P will have to think of a "hair" alternative for next time  ;)

I still think they look gorgeous Maddy, hair deflated or not.  You can be very proud of them. The kids wouldn't be picky.  Chookie are you going to have a go for your grand-daughters?  I'm thinking about it for my 6 year old's birthday at the end of December but would have to source those sticks first - a kitchenware shop Maddy?

Made Cashew chicken from Indian cookbook, went down a treat with the family, also today will make a satay sauce to go with chicken cooked on the bbq,   :)  Rainbow
