I cooked a No. 20 chicken yesterday for the 2 of us so had plenty of leftovers tonight.  As I always do extra vegies too, I used the carrots as well and along with some other ingredients from the pantry, adapted an old recipe for the TMX to make a chicken curry.  I have posted it in mains as it was rather yummy :P :P
What do you all do with your leftovers? Would there be enough support for a category in this regard?

if we have leftover chicken it's usually the brown meat (as none of us like it) so i generally make fried rice out of it - or i would have done a pie pre-gluten free days

Always manage to convert into something edible.  Remember Mrs T getting a shock when I asked why she was about to throw out a dried end of loaf of bread.  Very humble when I presented her with a large plate of panzanella (Tuscan bread, tomato, basil type soup).  Thye class last week emphasised how much older Italian cucina depende on doing the like.  They baked bread weekly and they had to find things to do like panzanella in summer and ribollita in winter.

Recently made my staff a yummy (their words) nectarine brulee with fruit that they said needed to be "chucked" - done in a micrwave and under the grill -  :o :o :o - always get lots of invites to cook.

Arancini from risotto, Stir fries like Karen, casseroles, soups and such end up using bits that would otherwise be bound for the bin.   When I was at Uni (Middle Ages) I bought a littel Penguin paperback by an English writer on how to use left-overs.  LAter found out she was a well-to-do family.  Really no excuses.

Need to see if we can organise a Section

Since you've been on holiday Thermomixer, you are speaking funny - don't understand half the cooking terms you are using ??? ??? ??? but like the sound of that soup with leftover bread.  How about posting that one day please.  I have an American book by Jean Pare called Recipes for Leftovers which I have used a few times but every now and then they mention an ingredient I've never heard of - they speak funny too ;D ;D

LOL!!!!

soups are great for odd bits and pieces, minestrone and vegie based soups. also pies - a bit of pastry can hide lots of sins! have made bleh meals into fab meals taht way ;)

I was having more luck with your French than with your Italian - learnt it at high school and loved it.  My Dad was so proud of me at the time but it is useful for picking up the odd word here and there and guess it wouldn't take long to re-learn if an effort was made.  Have no plans for an overseas trip though so don't really need it.

Guess what? I made more ice-cream, vanilla ice cream with dulce de leche rippled through! OMG!  :-)) :-)) :-))

Will make some more washing goo too! ;D ;D ;D

And also the dishwasher goo, for my friend to take home! Quite fancy setting up a stall somewhere and selling it!!! Hahhahaha! Oh Shhhhhhh...better keep quiet, the kids might hear and that might give them some ideas! :-[ Can just imagine, them walking around the village knocking on doors and trying to sell the stuff to make some extra pocket money....can you imagine!!!

No-one speaks English in Spain, I found, a couple of years ago!  Boy was that hard work, esp when other half was run over by a vespa in Granada

LOL - same in France and Italy to some extent.  I found that learning a little helped get them speaking English.  My favourite lines to start in any language are "Sorry, I am Australian, I do not speak .... "   Lo siento, Mi dispiace, Je suis desolee ..
A lot of people do not believe that they can speak English - but they do better than me in Spanish, French or Italian.

When you have an accident ....... well that's a different matter - NOBODY even habla espanol.

But Granada is a little world all on its own. That's where my husband is from, I had to learn Spanish within 3 months, as otherwise I would have died, that's what DH thinks! As you can probably tell, I am a good talker! But it was hard at first, lots of sign language and pictures :P :P :P Here in Malaga everyone speaks English!
Yes JD my girls speak english, with a mixture accent, mixed between spanish, london and irish (as Nana is Irish) people find it very confusing as they really can't work out where they are from! Speaking Spanish as natives (that they are!) and english with a sharp London accentand occasional irish word! ;D
