Wow super busy Thermomixer!

Today the family started the day with Hot Chocolates and pancakes.

lunch Chicken and veggie soup which I converted (1st time!! was a little nervous) but if I say so myself it was the best chicken soup I have ever made (very proud of myself) I followed the conversion tips from Everyday Cookbook.

Choc chip biscuits for afternoon tea and for dinner making carbonara that Thermomixer translated for us.

Last night I made Chicken Cacciatore which I converted from favorite recipe out of SFI. It was very nice.

Well it's 5pm time to head to the kitchen!!! yay

Well done Kathy.  Once you start converting recipes you become so much more confident and the sky's the limit.  Don't forget to post anything you really love as we like to share these sorts of successes. Hope you wrote each step down as you went for next time - it is easy to forget to do this and then you are left wondering how long you did the different steps or if you need to decrease some times etc.

thanks girls, I do feel more confident!! now that I'm converting. I have carbonara on now, and was like ok so if doesn't work there is plenty of time to 1. fix it OR 2. make something else!!!

I did write down the chicken soup as I went, should I post it?? Wasn't sure.

and the Chicken Cacciatore i FORGOT to write down :-)) but I will write tonight while it's still fresh in head, If I leave it any longer it will be lost in forgetful brain!!  :-[

Chicken Jambalaya sounds good.

Yea, put the soup on and just check to see if your cacciatore is the same as the one that is already on there - it is an early posting.  I have it printed out to do but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Today I have done Paul's lamb sauce for pasta then made some stock from the bones I got the meat from for that recipe and made a soup similar to the one Cookie1 did the other day! Finally a use for the red lentils that have been sitting there for ages. Can't go wrong with a pot of soup this weather. Been a bit of a lamb long weekend in this house, did virgosandra's Moroccan Lamb yesterday. Had every intention of making some sort of bread this weekend but once again time got away from me. Things weren't helped by the fact that some idiot egged our lounge window last night and I had that mess to clean up this morning.

judy, it involved cubes of chicken and it shredded it really quickly (like the butter chicken but dh cut it way too small, around 1cm cubes  :-))) and i cooked it too long. i think what i need to do is cook the chicken, remove then prepare the sauce and just put the chicken in for the last 5 minutes or so.

Yes, chicken can be tricky but as long as it tasted OK - that's the main thing. ;D ;D

Great going everyone!!

JD - sorry to hear about the egging! Hope it came off easily enough? Did you use Bron's washing detergent?  ;)

Just made Brazen's  winning lemon cake to take to morning tea tomorrow.

No ILB I had to scrape it from the window with a razor blade then use a scrubbing brush on the pavers - didn't think of the dishwashing goo to be perfectly honest. Think I will have to do the pavers again as I am not happy with it so I will use the goo next time.  Thanks for reminding me ILB.  It's no fun that's for sure and it was only a few weeks ago that I paid a window cleaner to do my windows. This is the second time in 5 weeks so I have notified the police now.

Similar but mine has sultanas from memory ( I hope !!)

Actually, mine has some diced candied citron in it.  Just a touch.  One of those ingredients I put in without thinking and forgot to write it down.  I've seen them with other candied fruits, but not raisins...

Been out of the loop for a while, so didn't know about Brazen's winning lemon cake (congrats, Brazen).  Could someone give me the link to it so that I can give it a go, please?  Thanks  ;D
