Real Newbie from Vancouver, Canada
« on: April 05, 2010, 04:03:42 pm »
Hi All,

I've had to spend the last 10 minutes finding out just how to post on this so I'm REAL new to this format & the TM! I just got my TM last week after quizzing my new mother friend from the kids' school who raved about her TM. She's just immigrated from S.Africa where some of her friends had one. I had a demo party at my place last week & was blown away by EVERYTHING! I don't have a mix master or big food processor so I was in the market for something that could do both & WOW, the TM is so functional & compact. I'm excited to learn what I can do w/the TM, share (sorry, not much for now), & get HELP!

BTW, I'm a wife & stay at home mother of a 7 & 5 y.o boy & girl. I had a very long & fulfilling single life & now live a "traditional" home life where I want to create & provide, nutritious & delicious meals for family & friends. We also have a 10 y.o maltipoo (who looks like a puppy).

Happy to be here...

Welcome lws11.  I am in the same time zone as you, but much further south, in southern California.
I've only been a TMX owner since November so am still feeling my way but have had a lot of fun with it so far.

I'm sure you will quickly learn the ins and out of this forum and I know for sure you will find the members extremely friendly, helpful and enthusiastic and certainly eager to share recipes and tips.  A lovely bunch.

Welcome! You'll get the hang of it in no time at all. ;)
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Thank you for leaving such welcoming messages! O.k., I know there's a learning curve & I WILL get better at this. From the first 3 experiences using this magnificent machine so far...I must have dropped the MC on the floor a dozen times taking off the lid creating my first meal (falafels from a standard recipe, a little ambitious for a newbie I know) and yesterday my TM overflowed when I increased the speed to finish off making cappuccinos (2X). My girlfriend who is my TM mentor, was over & investigated. She discovered that I hadn't put back the rubber ring inside the lid! ARRR! Anyway, 2 things I won't be doing again...Tonite I'm making the tomato soup from the Everyday recipe book. Will report back the results...any suggestions b4 I begi
