I became ridiculously obsessed with MC last year, partly because work had a tipping comp and I would trawl the MC forums trying to figure out in advance who would get eliminated...  it was OTT!  I think I might have to just abstain from it this year - too disruptive to normal life!

:D I know exactly what your saying Versaceyoyo!

And those MC forums sure get  N.A.S.T.Y!.....Once MC is over......there is a spill-over of trouble making trolls, that come over to the taste forum  :-))

I am pleased though with the format changes in the show this year.  Should make  fairer judging decisions.

Glad they don't know what a TMX is.

What changes have been made?  They have been filming since October last year.  That is a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

They have booted out the female host, so the judges will do all the hosting too.
They have stopped the contestant eliminations (to vote each other off).....which then stops them ganging up on the strongest competitors.
And if a contestant  beats a celebrity chef, they will not leave the house until the finals.  They stay on t.v., but will have immunity for the next challenge.
I think that was the main changes.

I have to agree with that Maddy, I hardly go on there anymore. Also I only go on the computer for a while each day and I choose to spend it here. It is sad to see people being nasty on forums, I guess they have nothing better to do.

Actually the taste forum isn't too bad for nasties.....happens occasionally though (they get reported and booted out pretty quick  ;)).  This thermomix forum is very unique with ALL members genuinely helping and supporting each other.
It's wonderful!  ;D

We don't get a very good reception, so generally only watch Foxtel. I missed the last series of MC.
I have, however, been watching the UK one for years on Foxtel. It sounds wayyyyyy better than the Aussie one! You have to be pretty exceptional to be granted the title of Master Chef on the UK show.
I agree that Julie is a great home cook, not a chef. The ones who win MC in the UK want to open their own restaurants.
But, I'm going to watch it tonight.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Absolutely MJ.......I think I like the U.K. version  better,  much less painful theatrics.
Watched tonight.....but I'm sorry......I did have a giggle at the expense of Jason's pavlova pancake and the guy that  chopped 2 fingers on one hand......am I evil?  ;D

I liked how they quickened the process and showed the top 50 straight up.
But what's up with Matt Prestons cow designed boots?  :-\  they have surpassed his ridiculous cravats!

:D Maddy, he's a dork, so needs to use such aids as cravats and cow boots to attract attention to himself!! :P Now, I'm getting N.A.S.T.Y. !!

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but the repeated scenes are excruciatingly painful.
