What do I do here??? Am I doing something wrong???
I have 2 loaf tins. One aluminium and one 'non-stick'. I want to put the loaf into the oven with out the tins for 5-10 minutes after they're cooked, to really crisp them up... but I cant get them out of the tin when they're still hot!
I spray both tins with Rice Bran Oil since non-stick doesn't actually mean non-stick. Grrrrr
Today, I made this recipe and I left all the crust in the loaf tin

I'd line the tins with baking paper Molly, use an oven mitt and they should just fall out.
I think Chookie uses canola oil as a spray for unlined bread tins (right Chookie?) and if you sprinkle some sesame seeds over the sprayed tin base, that also helps release it. I'd definitely go with the lining of the tin though.

Molly, you certainly are making progress.
Line the tins for a best result or use canola spray, plenty of it. The seeds add a nice finish even in the bottom and are a bit of extra insurance with the sticking.

Turns out my hubby is gluten intolerant, so I've been making a daily rice loaf (mucho yummy). I've been feeling like bakers delight bread is a bit 'empty' so I've been experimenting with adding some other flours to a wheat loaf.
Unfortunately, diet restrictions, can't have sesame seeds. What a shame.
Okay... maybe I'll get some of those baking sheet things I can cut to shape?? Then I can re-use it.
Thanks for your help. Achookwoman, I posted a q on your blog on this recipe.

Or... not. They have teflon in them and I'm not confident in wrapping our daily bread in it.
*sigh* It's hard living in this day and age.

Molly, replace the sesame seeds with cracked wheat or sunflower seeds. You can use Baking paper to line your tins. I will look at my blog, thanks.

I made this today, stock standard bread in our house.
Did the first rise 1 hour, placed in bread tin, took ds to school, came back 2 hours later, wow the rise was way over the tin. popped it in he oven, really lovely looking tall loaf.
Had it with dinner, so yum, so light as well. This was the best I have ever made this bread. It stands nearly 6" tall. So so crispy, didnt brush with oil or water, just outstanding. No water in oven!!!
Chookie I expect your loaves are this high or higher. I am so impressed & so is everyone else

Hally, you must have handled the loaf very gently, as one knock and it would have deflated. Great when you have a success like this.
