Just made this bread again - thank goodness it worked! I prebagged the dry ingredients about 4mths ago, putting them in the freezer for easy making and then panicked when I read somewhere you shouldn't let the salt touch the yeast (and I prebagged 10 lots!!).
Lovely as usual and I am cooking some scrolls I also made using the dough.

Kylie, I think it is a good idea to bag up the mix . I have never had a problem caused by the yeast too close to the salt. If it does worry you, leave it out and add just before mixing. My Mum, would bag it up and add the yeast at the last minute. She used fresh yeast. I will post what I made today with this recipe.

Not quite perfect, but will have another go soon. Still have sour dough to bake. It doesn't like this very cold weather.
