CP I've looked at them a few times and wondered if the food tastes different than using my Le Crueset, do you think there is a lot of difference? I love the look of the fricasse, there was a recipe on taste a few weeks ago that I was hoping to cook soon. I would be interested to compare your ingredients to the taste version.

I've got LC as well and to be honest I wouldn't know as everything from both has been fine. Cooking in the clay is a different way altogether and its basically one pot cooking and a steaming method. Now that I've got a cookbook, its inspired me to make a few recipes and I'm loving it more than I did before as I previously only did roast chicken and some loaves of bread. The roast chicken was brilliant and the couple of dishes that I've done since the weekend have been scrummy. Maybe see if you can get a look at the cookbook before you buy one. For me, they are superb dishes and now I see they have a bread loaf dish which I want/need probably just want

I had one of these years ago and I hated cleaning it, it was big and I found it took ages to clean. I agree food cooked in it tasted great but the cleaning aspect and having to soak it before use was not for me - I threw it in the bin

oh no! I used to clean it with bicarbonate and water which was tedious. Now I just use my kitchen brush and scrubbie and water and try not to think how precious it is (cos that's what the makers kept harping on about). I bought the big one first and then the medium size, and I think if given the choice now I would buy just the medium as the recipes in the book serve 4 people.

Oh, another thing, it took up too much room in the cupboard and you had to be so careful with it - my Royal Doulton dinner set is precious too but I find that far easier to care for than the romertopf. A dreadful waste I know CP but what's done is done, I act impulsively like that sometimes but I must say that I have never missed it.

Sneaky macaroni cheese (with added chicken) from the Baby & Toddler book - a frozen meal, it freezes well.
