I was thinking how meaty it looked Uni - I have an Italian neighbour who puts lots of layers of pasta but very little sauce in between. Us Aussies like more meat in ours

my Lasagna recipe is a very simple one CC
the KISS method
for the bolognese sauce
1 kg of mince
2.55 of tinnd tomatoes + 1/2 of that can of water
about 2 onions i used onion confit so i didnt add any oil
4 bayleaf
thats it, no herb or spices not even basil
I cook my sauce for about 3 to 4 hours on the stove top , this sauce i made in the slow cooker so about 7 hours
its a very watery sauce
then i add a double batch of EDC bechamel sauce to the bolognese sauce, some times i cheat and just add cream or sour cream
i have not cheated since the TM
2pkts of Lasagna sheets (500 grams )
mozzarella cheese
parmesan cheese optional i use it when i forget to add salt to the sauce

That looks nice maddy, haven't done Chelsea's version yet.
Uni, are you saying you actually mix the bechamel sauce and the bolognaise sauce together, you don't layer it.

I have some homemade sausage given me by a neighbor: Pork and veal with pineapple and ginger. A new combination he is trying out on family and friends before making it to sell in his shop. (He owns a small licensed abattoir and butcher shop, a rare thing today here in the states.)
I'm cooking yet another pot of beans - these in the slow cooker, Organic great northerns. And I plan to cook some greens with Savoy cabbage to up the vitamin content of the meal. Another neighbor who is currently on her own as her men are off on a hunting trip, will join me for dinner.
I'm also going to bake a batch of cornbread.
