Great idea with the zucchini maddy, it is rather bland without some help.  Did it lift it to another level with the garlic paste?

I used about 2 heaped teaspoons....I'd say the flavour was delicate, not overpowering at all.  Will add more in next time.....but will have to 5 x  the garlic paste quantity next time I make it.......I use it in lots of things!

Your Beef and Ale Pie looks fantastic maddy. Is that the Flaky Pastry or bought Puff pastry?

Borgs puff pastry.....I really don't think I have patience for making the flaky stuff  :P

Tonights dinner is moulded lasagna, like the link Andie posted.....well, I have some stories about it all, but I wont comment until it's unmoulded and eaten  ;)
.........EAT CAKE!

Hally, how did you make the shepherd pie from a roast?  I always have left over roast an it would be great to make something other than toasted sandwiches lol

Yes a great way to use roast meat. I think it was actually economically very good. 1.5kg beef topside. Meal for 3, sandwiches for 2 then shepherds pie for 3-4 meals.

Chopped beef up to small size, chopped in tm.

Fry pan,
1 onion sauted, Added carrots par cooked from microwave
Added herbs, beef, beef stock, cornflour, worctershire sauce
Cooked for 15 - 20 mins
Then peas, cook off

1 kg ptatoes in tm, mash,
Put all in oven, yum

H :)

In the winter Mum used to batter left over slices of roast too. Not in the summer as it was too hot for battered food.

Tonight we're having Beef and Ale pie at last.

Tonight is a variation of the Aussie meat pie that's in Meat on the Menu.

I will be having a lamb (left over roast that was sliced and frozen) and potato pie.  Very much looking forward to it.

Tonight we're having chicken fettucine and as I have some smoked slamon I'll throw that in as well.
