We are eating very pedestrian food this week in prep for the indulgence of Xmas and New Year.
Last night crumbed lamb cutlets, mashed potatoes , Cauli and peas. Tonight, grilled steak. Thought I might try cooking the Bubble Potatoes that have taken over Tic Tok. Ral will love them, I will probably just taste 2 or 3.

I’ve never heard of them Chookie so had to google, love the look of them and I can see why they would be so popular.

These Bubble potatoes are a bit of a fiddle to make but so much nicer than potato gems. I put the pots through a potato ricer but could probably do it in the TMX. My secret ingredient was 1/2 teaspoon of bread improver as I had rice flour but not the glutenious one. I used dessertspoon, not tablespoons of the flours. I also used Dutch cream potatoes. I think waxy ones are probably better as the mixture will form a better log and stick together.
I also think the second fry could be done in the AF.

Crispy little morsels Chookie.
Those beans are very long cookie (compared to canned baked beans), what type did you use?
I had eggplant parmigiana at a restaurant tonight, it was delicious.

The bubble potatoes, second fry to make them crispy, do well in AF.
I doubled the recipe for the next lot and mashed the potatoes with the flours in the TMX.

I see there was another version using very finely sliced raw potato as well Chookie, are you going to give that version a try too? They puff up like little pillows.

Judy, Ral looked at those and and suggested filling them with Wasabi. Wasabi is an on going joke here from when Ral took a spoonful at a party, not knowing what it was.
I think my little potato balls made with SD are an equal contender for this new recipe. But not everyone has SD.
Leftover quiche for dinner.

Chookie, I would have loved to have been at that party to see Ral’s reaction to the wasabi episode. It’s not something I’ve ever tried as I don’t do very hot condiments.

Ooh! Wasabi gives you a kick, not hot like chilli but hot in its own way.
We are having a RTE Satay Chicken Curry and rice.
