Yes Chookie, the prawns were too solid but as I ate a prawn cocktail on Christmas Day last year I thought they would be OK. Things change like the wind, pity crabs aren’t available all year round as they’re fine.

How lovely to have your kids in the kitchen with you Chookie.

We are having roast beef and veggies. I'm making the cauli and broccoli cheese at the moment as I want to watch the footy when it comes on. My team is rather covid affected at the moment with a lot of injuries.
DD is working today and tomorrow and just texted to say there have been some dramas at work so she will be quite late.

Not dinner but for lunch today I went to DD2’s and she cooked a perfect meal for me (and the rest of the family but it was made to suit my needs). A big piece of Barramundi and some prawns placed on top of a thin layer of slinky mashed sweet potato with broccoli served on the side. She poured a creamy, mustardy sauce over the seafood, I should have taken a photo as it was restaurant quality and apart from the broccoli I ate everything else quite easily.  Why I could eat her prawns and not the ones I bought the other day is a mystery but hers were easy to eat - maybe they need to be freshly cooked and served hot for me rather than cold.  This meal was better than anything I’ve had for the past 18 months.

I did a search for something similar to this and I found this one of RTE https://www.recipetineats.com/baked-fish-with-lemon-cream-sauce/#wprm-recipe-container-24989 then got in touch with DD to see if in fact it was that recipe.  I had hit the nail on the head, it was.  DD just added the prawns and they certainly made it extra special.

Judy, that was an amazing meal. So glad you could eat the same as everyone else.
Last night I had 1/2 Avo stuffed with chopped up prawns mixed with light Mayo. DS bought me a tray of lamb cutlets from Cosco. We had some grilled for lunch, with salsa.
K Atie , so nice to be able to mix with family.

Judy your meal sounds delicious, and of course you were able to eat it which made it super wonderful. Clever DD2.

We are having a sort of quiche with the pastry on the top tonight. It has ham, zucchini, onion and garlic in that you cook up before, then add the eggs and milk before topping it with the pastry.

We’re having spaghetti bolognaise with garlic bread. I’m sure I can find an old bread roll or two in the freezer that will do for garlic bread.

Has turned cold so soup for dinner.
Cookie, there always seems to be an odd bit of bread floating around in the freezer.

I found a tiny bit of Maggie Beer’s Olive bread. It made delicious garlic bread.
Tonight is marinaded lamb with veggies.
