DJ and Amy your food looks great.

We are having friends over tonight so I'm doing lots of cooking.  Parmesan breadsticks, babaganoush and some antipasto for nibbles then Maggie Beers slowed roasted lamb shoulder as well as a Greek marinated shoulder, salad of green beans, roasted pumpkin and beet root with Persian feta and almonds and whole rosemary potatoes. For dessert I've made crio bru panacotta and might make some of the avocado chocolate mousse.

Tonight is a choice of roast chicken or prawns with avocado and warm Cobb loaf, followed by bread and butter pudding, made with my unleavened choc hot cross buns.

Sounds yummy ES. I would choose the prawns :)
Want to make a bread and butter pudding with some hot cross buns tomorrow. What recipe did you use?

I'm definitely having the prawns, but the chicken does smell good......
I've followed DJ's recipe she mentioned recently for the hot cross bun pudding- I have buttered 5 or 6 chocolate buns and put them in a dish. I have soaked them in a mixture of 3 eggs, a couple of tablespoons of sugar and about 500ml of milk. I'm about to place them in the oven. It might be really stodgy as I forgot to add the yeast to the buns, and they are like rocks.
Fingers crossed!

DS's dad is staying tonight (because the easter bunny is coming!) and he bought fish & chips with him, so I just had a couple of steamed dim sims tonight. Not very healthy, but i didn't have much of an appetite. DS & I went out with a kinder friend (who has Aspergers) and his mum today, and he was such a high-stress day for all involved. We didn't really think it through, and went and did a little shopping - way too much going on for our two, so they were basically uncontrollable. Next time, we'll go to a park or something where it doesn't matter if they run around and make lot's of noise!

Ooh ow ow. I ate too much tonight. The B&B pudding was a success , but it pushed me over the edge:(.
I really didn't need dessert tonight after the prawns. Just had to go for a walk after dinner to feel better.
AND I haven't even made it to Easter Sunday yet.

We had a piece of slow cooked topside from the NZ book I bought the other day. It had 2 cups of Lima beans and 1/2 cup pearl barley under the meat and potato and veggies in. It was beautiful.
