Mum gave me a spicy smoke rub that was too spicy for her, so I rubbed it on a couple of free range chicken chops and cooked them on the BBQ. I served it with brown rice cooked in my thermie (cooked extra and made a brown rice salad for tomorrow's BBQ), A cucumber sauce made in thermie, salads and bbq'd mushroom and home grown zucchini.  The rub was really nice and i"ll keep using it. Thanks mum:)

Delicious ES. Much better than the chicken and veg pasta we had.

Nice looking meal ES and that cucumber sauce sounds interesting, what's that all about and what else can it be served with - fish I suspect?

Cucumber sauce is good for lots of things. Anywhere you would use tzatziki and in Indian cooking as well  lamb, beef   Fish ,burgers, falafel . It is a good quick recipe for summer whoever you want gravy.

Oh dear, a recipe for the cucumber sauce?
I was going to make Tzatizi but my plain yoghurt was really runny. Instead, I chopped some parsley, a few mint leaves, and a clove of garlic in the bowl. Then added 2/3 of a cucumber and chopped on speed 5 for about 3 seconds. I then threw in a few heaped tablespoons of plain yoghurt and the same of sour cream, a few grindings of black pepper and a couple of shakes of the spice rub I used on the kid's chicken (which was milder than the one I used in ours). I then mixed it up together on speed 3 or 4 for a few seconds. Voila!

Sour cream , yogurt and some good mayo  is a nice mix for potato salad too.

Roast chicken tonight, but as requested by DS, it will be accompanied by mashed not roasted potatoes.   :-))
