Last night we had a roasted vegetable dish with freekah and haloumi. It was really tasty. I forgot to take a photo so this is only the leftovers. Sorry!

So freekah is a bit like pearl barley Cookie?

It is green wheat which has been through a process.

Yes, as Gert said. It looked just like boiled wheat after I had cooked it. Dad always said we would have to live on boiled wheat if we were naughty. It gave the dish a nice crunch. You could do any sort of grain I think. DH suggested a mix of quinoa and freekah next time.

Yum Cookie did you use anything to season it or just the veggies roasted gave enough flavour?
Tonight we had devil of a cookbook fried rice and wontons and spring rolls with the sweet chilli sauce I made on the weekend. Yum!

A bit of this and a bit of that.
Pork & Apple Cider Stew from CFM&Y, air fried potato, parsnip slices & zucchini hash browns (last 2 need some work, not happy with them yet).

Made a Mac & cheese with added veg which the family really enjoyed. Followed by a Brioche (EDC) Bread & Butter Pudding (Judy) served with a dollop of doubled cream.

Beautiful food, Julie. Beautifully shot too. Do you use a DSLR camera?

Bee, yes I do. I use a Canon 600D Dslr with this macro lens for food photography.
