Mexican Vegetable Soup last night. A recipe from taste.com and it was the nicest soup I have had in a long, long time .. even better than my "traditional" go-to soups, pumpkin and scotch broth!

It was my mother's cure all for everything and I inherited that from her! If she knew I made it 'without a bone' she would be turning in her grave!

Looking at a one dish Greek baked potato and chicken casserole.
Leftover veggie soup.
Have SD overnight dough rising. Might turn it into garlic butter Scrolls to have with the soup.

We have a raffle on our car runs Chookie and today I won a prize. It was a bag of lovely bag of garlic grown by the run organisers. It looks beautiful and the grower has encouraged me to plant some of it.

Cookie, that is great. Home grown garlic seems to have more zing that the bought stuff.

I’m having sausages and DH a portion lamb casserole. Amazing what you find in the freezer when you forget to defrost the meat.

I cut a Kilo of beef in half and roasted 1/2 for dinner last night. Today will cook the other half in the Slow Cooker. No leftovers.
I am trying to understand why a reported 1/3 of bought food is wasted. Certainly not here.

Not here either Chookie. I’ve taken a tuna slice out for tea tonight.

Not here either - any odd bits and pieces go either to the worms or the compost.

I would love to say not here too, but I just found a piece of pumpkin that I thought was fine was very mouldy on the other side. I threw it out! I try not to do that though.

I made Skinnymixers Chorizo and Potato Stew. I had to cook it a little longer as the potatoes weren't cooked in the 15 minutes specified in the recipe.

I don't know if it is just me, but I rarely find that vegetables are ever cooked properly in the times given in recipes. I generally ignore the specified times now!
