That’s a shame Michele, there’s nothing nicer than freshly caught fish. What a unique situation DS is in, I bet that hasn’t happened before.

Fresh fish is delicious. It tastes so much better. DS and DIL must be good fisher people.
We ended up not having the planned meal last night so it is on for tonight.

DIL, is the daughter of a commercial fisherman. DS has loved fishing, even as a little fellow.
Late DH always had a boat and he had a love of fishing too, so I suppose that is were Dano got it from.
I have asked him to give it away to my neighbours - I don't eat fish and DH has plenty in the freezer. Dano, fillets it and debones it.

Our neighbour cooked and gave us a wonderful Chicken Casserole for our supper. It was delicious. I only had to steam some veg.

CC, good neighbour. Bet you enjoyed it.
One of our favourite Cafe in Ballarat is doing takeaway. L’Espresso. As we are out today, will order and pickup.

Looks nice Cookie. Will check it out.
We had pea and ham soup for Dinner. Had takeaway for lunch. Pasta with prawns. They had it ready and boiling hot. Felt good ordering as it felt like we were helping them survive.

Thanks KAtie, will check out Lola. Had a meal there last year, was disappointed.
Making Beef in Stout from British chip. Love this recipe. Picked a large Chinese cabbage from the garden. Will probably last a week.

A good reminder about the Beef in stout recipe Chookie. I bought a can of Guinness a few weeks ago to make it again but haven't gotten around to it yet. Getting into the perfect weather for it now.
Katie, I've seen many people like the LaLa recipe on the Skinnymixers fb group. I must have a look at it.

We had vegetable soup and rolls made in the pie maker. The rolls were not a huge success. Not sure what to have tonight.

Mab, what size pie maker did you use. .? The mini one would make 8 from 1/2 No Fuss recipe and the larger one 6 rolls. It is best to have a wet rather than stiff dough. Double rise gives a better texture. Playing around today, I tried both pie makers. The mini ones turned out rather strange as they looked like little pies. They tasted ok. They costed out at just over 10 cents each.

We're having chicken, pasta and some of the tomato passata that I made from cheap tomatoes. It gives everything a lovely flavour.

Ok now I know this is old fashioned and sounds geriatric but when it is so cold DH and I have a really nice small sherry , it’s a Dan Murphy’s McWillams one . Then for dinner- Roast eye fillet , silver beet roast carrots and potatoes . Cheated for dessert bakery tiramisu, it was so nice not bitter at all . Only got two pieces and cut in half .

Stir fried squid with caper sauce. Salad from the garden. Rather naughty but the local potatoes I bought from a road side stall, weeks ago, make fabulous chips. Our local growers sell to Mc Cains and MacDonalds. Most of the potatoes in the local supermarkets come from SA.
I steam the potatoes in the TMX.. Dry them and keep in the fridge and then shallow fry in Rice Bran oil. Pancakes and Maple Syrup.
