Wonder I love your idea, "If you don't believe, you don't receive". DS7 is at the I am unsure age. Today his nan and pop (my parents) have taken him for his Santa photo. The same santa since he was born. We had to explain that the santas he sees in the shops are santas helpers. Santa is very busy at this time of year, so he sends his helpers out.
One dear boy at school decided to tell DS7 that santa isn't real, so I had to get out all the books with santa in them and explain that is he wasn't real, then why is he in so many books. That worked so far.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Thermie New Year

We have the same philosophy here and also had the same thing happen to DS who is nearly 7. We are fortunate enough to have the older kids and so they soon jumped on the "if you don't believe you don't receive" wagon. It only took his 21, 19 and 18 yo brothers to tell him once and that they believed and received to change his mind  ;) ;) :D :D

Everyone's pics of their tree inspired me to include mine.  All of the ornaments on the tree have a story. The angel was my grandmother's. Many of the others we picked up when we were on holidays or family members gave them to us etc.

Notice the large box next to the tree.  There is another one behind it.  Guess what my daughters are getting for Christmas.  I know the youngest one is going to be beside herself. She has wanted one since before I got mine but could never afford it.  I hope the older one will grow to love it as much as I do.  She really needs one but doesn't realize it yet.  She is a teacher and works a second job saving all her money to travel. Last year while working two jobs she also studied full time. The one thing she rarely does is cook homemade good food.  We hope this will change that.

OMG  :-)) did Santa really bring one???

Our tree: usually our kids bring the tree out and decorate it, but this year DH did. He decorated it himself, and its a little bit funny but I will adopt Frozzies attitude for individual creativity and not to be knocked attitude (ie. I couldn't be bothered doing it myself or even fixing it up).

Photo to come  ;D ;D ;D...

I hate to admit this, but one year we didn't pack away our tree until about March (I feel better now)

I am home again after a lovely week visiting with my daughter and her family.  I was taken out to lunch and dinner at several interesting restaurants, including one at Wente winery.  All wonder foods.

Here is a photo of her tree which is filled with some unusual ornaments as well as many traditional ones.  This was Christmas morning as the prezzies were opened Christmas Eve because guests for dinner were to be there at 1:00 p.m. and the great room had to be cleared of all the debris of opening packages.

I had a great time but developed a head cold on my last day, which has now descended into my chest and persistent coughing leaves me weak and aching.  It's the first cold I have had in many years.

Yes, that's a large jar of olives from Italy.  I'm not sure why it's still under the tree.  I gave them the Breville Juice fountain elite and the 2-tiered pastry basket in front of the tree.  (Also the container filled with roasted/salted cashews in the top tier of the basket, especially for SiL as they are his favorite) along with several other items already put to use.  The three grands all got Amazon gift cards so they could choose their own gifts as it is too difficult for me to figure out what young people that age want.

I need to get well so I can drive down to my friend's home in Orange county so I can retrieve my boy Aston.  I really miss him but I am not up to making a two-hour drive today.  Hopefully tomorrow.  I will stay there for at least a couple of days, at least through the holiday weekend, if I do make it there.
