Uni seeing your wonderful decorations certainly inspired me - was up until the wee hours erecting Christmas tree no 1 (decided to change positioning of tree this year), normally the tree is the last of the decorations as it is so time consuming.  We have an assortment of trees (table and crystal type trees) once all Christmas decor is finished  :)  :)

Uni :( Understand though

Robyn - TOO EARLY!

That has been the one thing I've insisted on since coming to Germany, having a real tree every year. Till then we had nearly always just used a fake one (I have dim memories of my wife and I have a real one at one point in England, probably when in Goring) but I'd rather waste the money on enjoying a real tree for a month; better value than a bunch of flowers :)

Certainly nothing like the Christmas tree smell, (I have to do with a Crabtree and Evelyn room fragance) Sorry Rob not when you see what goes on in this house during Dec - as well as the Christmas / end of school year craziness 2 of our DD's have birthdays before Christmas and DH's is today with a house full of visitors tonight so wanted to inject some Christmas spirit apart form the liquid variety :D

*chuckles* Aye, I can understand a bit as my DD has her birthday on the 8th.

I'm for putting them up first weekend of December (or on the 1st if possible), my wife would rather wait till after DD's birthday (she is used to putting decs up in her parents house after her dads birthday on like the 17th Dec!). Often causes a scuffle between us :)

We put our tree up after 6th dec, ds birthday 6th, i like to keep them separate so his birthday is special. Mind you i think he would be happy with the tree going up now. I hate taking it down!!

I love christmas but this time of year is always so busy with break up parties,  ds birthday & dh birthday. Its all good fun though.

Pretty tree Robyn.....my Mum always used to use the strand tinsel......I couldn't believe how long she would spend packing it all up, strand by strand, until they all neatly together.   Me on the other hand, probably would have thrown it all into a shopping bag and hoped for the best!

Your crystal table tree sounds lovely......will you be taking pictures of it?......love table tree's too.

What a lovely thread.  We have a fake tree in the house.  It is so hot that a real one would drop all of its needles in a couple of days and spoil the fun.  :(
This year I hope to cut a real tree to put on our deck just before 25th as well as the indoor one.  We have a lot of little pines coming up on our property and we just cut them out.  At least one can be useful this way  :)

DH thought we were past having Xmas trees when the girls left home,  But we now have our grandson in our care and it all came back.  I love it.  I have solar led lights on the deck all year.  LOL.

I try to have only 'real' ornaments.  Nothing plastic.  I love the glass baubles and have a real collection of them,  plus felt, wood and metal.  And even a few that were made by our two DD's when they were kids.
Plus a collection of xmas earings that I decorate our table tree with.

I will post pics as soon as I put it up.  Probably 1 Dec or very close after.
