Looks great CC, you disguised the 'bend' well.  I wouldn't have even noticed if you hadn't told us.  I love the smell of fresh Christmas trees but we rarely see a fresh one here in Australia amongst our friends/relatives.

Thanks Maddy for starting this very feel good thread - I have so enjoyed reading all posts.  I have included the pics of our Christmas tree, I place presents under the tree as they are wrapped, no little ones around to begin pulling and opening.  However our 26yr old DD still enjoys probing and guessing the contents, so much so that I still box all her gifts.  There will be a TMX wrapped and under the tree, arrive ed about a week ago - she and her partner purchased as their Christmas gift, but she wants it wrapped so she can open Christmas day - so exciting!!!!!  A Blessed and Happy Christmas to you all  :D  :D

I post pics by either 1. Exporting the pictures from picasa (a software download from Google that helps organise, edit, and share photo and it's free), to a folder as your pics are already compressed you are able to post or email or
2. I right click on your pic go to open with , scroll down to m'soft picture manager, left click - your pic will be on the screen, right click on the picture, go to edit picture, left click and on RHS of your screen, click compress pics, choose web page options, don't forget to save edited pic when that option appears on the screen.  I hope that I haven't added further confusion for those having issues uploaded pics to the forum

Cheers - R  :)

Very nice trees CC & Johnro.  I love that no two trees will ever look the same, and have their own personalities.

Does any one else loathe taking it down?  what is the correct date for doing so?
My friend packs hers up boxing day  :o  I'm afraid it takes me a whole lot more motivation to pack it all up!

Maddy, we always take our tree down on New Year's day, and we put our tree in a big box standing up with the ornaments etc still on.  the box gets covered up and put away in a store room ready for the next year.  ;D

I think you're suppose to take your decorations down on Twelfth Night, the 5th January.

 :D Oh....what a wonderful idea Julie!
wish I had some spare room to store a really big box  :-))
I had a neighbour who would leave hers up all year round, on the stair landing......you would think you'd be sick of the sight of it come the following  December  :-\

We actually take our tree down on the 27th.  Only because DD has her birthday on 31st and when she was  a small child I felt she was entitled to celebrate her birthday quite separately from Christmas. The tradition has stuck.

When do people put their trees up?

I can't stand to see Xmas stuff until December. Xmas in Europe and Nth America is beautiful to see, I don't have the same feelings about Xmas in Australia with our plastic trees, fake snow and too hot to eat traditional food.   If i didnt have kids I wouldn't do Xmas.   I hate the massive lead up starting from now until the hot cross buns go on sale in January.  The retailers have ruined it and turned me into a Scrooge.   Baahumbug!

(but this is a nice thread to see inside other people's houses)
