I've had a look and in a addition to being not as user friendly, I'm wondering what their aim is - a chat forum with recipes? or a recipe base with chat? I think a lot more thought has to go into the site - it seems a bit aimless at the moment, even if it is new; being new is no excuse. In this day and age where we have access to so many sites, recipe community has to sort itself out for it attract users.

This forum is attractive from the angle that it is independant from Vorwerk and that's where it gets my vote, but good luck to the people at recipe community - competition is the name of the game.

I think this forum is fantastic and I can navigate myself around it easily. Probably just a matter of spending time working out how that one works if I had extra time. They have obviously seen how successful this forum is, and in hind sight realised they should have done something similar. I do think its a great thing, and a good selling tool for new customers and another site that we can go to for more TM recipes.

Initially I liked the look of it, especially some of the photos. But I am also finding it a bit hard to 'find' my way around. I can't even see the competition you are talking about (not that I would enter as I haven't converted anything yet) but I would like to vote. It's great to have another site to get more ideas and inspiration from though  :)

I wondered the same thing Cookie.  It is very difficult to come up with a recipe without inspiration from somewhere.  Most of my recipes are adapted for the TM from another recipe.  Perhaps we should contact them and ask?  :)

I have emailed Tenina about it. Will report back with the response when it comes in. ;)

I had an interesting chat with a friend the other night and she was saying that she had heard that ingredients can't be protected from being copied and if the method is changed slightly you can say based on Nigela's recipe and if you have changed the ingredients you can say inspired by Nigela. I will get the link from her and post when I can.

Thanks Meagan. I've heard the same as your friend. As we change the method so much it isn't really a recipe from anywhere else. We'll wait and see.

Although the Format for the"recipecommunity" is different,  the aim seems the same as the Forum.  I suppose the highest praise is for someone to copy what you are doing because it is so successful.   Advantages of the new site is that HO can offer incentives.  Advantage of Forum is that it is NOT run by HO.   It is good that HO has made changes to what was pretty pathetic.   Any incentive, that encourages the TMX community to better use our machines has to be a good thing for all users.   Everyone who joins the Forum and interacts with it brings something of value. Look at Isi and Farfallina,  not to mention our local members.  There are people who will join 'recipecommunity' who have a lot to offer , but don't know about the Forum.   All will benefit from this.  Personally,  I like the ethos of the Forum,  so will probably stick with it.  However I will dip into the 'recipecommunity',  like I do with other sites.

Well said chookie.
I agree that more recipes & knowledge shared is a wonderful thing.  I will probably join up too, but think my chatter will remain here.  It sort of feels like I would be "cheating" on a friend  IYKWIM  ;)

Ok here is Tenina's response

It means a recipe that is a recipe for Thermomix (obviously) and it can be adapted from a non thermomix recipe, but must not really resemble the original by more than 80%.

You also cannot have had it published elsewhere either by you or by Thermomix in a book or printed publication or online other than on here as a competition entry.

I am not sure but will check for you the status of recipes that appear on a personal blog as clearly we have lots of those already...

I would say no to the blog, "online anywhere but their website" so we can't submit anything we've submitted on this forum or our blogs which is bit unfair to those who are happily sharing everything they do for the greater TMX good.

Just had a quick look and like most of you also found it not as easy to get around as here!!!!  Also not sure if I registered properly - do you get an email to tell you if you did it right???  I'm not all that computer savy, so hope they make it as easy as this site is.  Have a great Christmas everyone!!!

Funny Trudy, I can't even remember if I did get an email but if you can access that forum, you are certainly accepted because you cannot access it unless you join up.  I tried to see if I could find you amongst the members and there is a trudy on there but it would not let me look at her profile.  It said I am 'not authorised to access this page'.  Did you type a comment in the Welcome to our Forum thread?

I've signed up there now.  I like it so far - particularly the favourites and the rating function, something we miss here.  I see it more as a tmx recipezaar, which I'm thrilled to have, but not a replacement to here.

I tried to post in their forum for recipe book ideas, but although I could add a title, the comments box wasn't recognised by my iPad so I didn't have a keyboard, so I couldn't post  :'(
As my picture shows, I've suddenly become younger :-)  DD was of the opinion that her picture should be here, not mine!

I've enjoyed reading everyone's comments. I agree with all of them. I like recipe community for recipes and hints etc. This is the chatty place. As Chookie said it is wonderful that they have created it.

Thanks Meagan for your reply from Tenina.

Caroline you can type you just have to select 'deselect rich text' on the bottom right under the text box or there is another one you can select - can't remember the name of it now. But it does take a bit of time to do which is annoying!
