whoops. MM/admin is very mysterious.... You are right about Portugal, but originally from England (a real POME). I am a Bimby owner, and work for an online company, in Social Media. I have 3 boys, a wonderful wife, a dog and 2 fish. My hobbies are cooking, cycling, reading and Internet... I actually spend a lot of time approving new members..tough job!

Actually, one or 2 members know who I am.  I tell you what, I'll reveal myself when I visit Australia... I hope to go one day and do the grand tour.

There you go, you all know a little more about me :-)

Take care

thought your english was too good to be european (well non english european)... very nice to know a little more about you MM.  Can I ask if your wife is portuguese and how long you have been in portugal?  Thank you for the intro and revealing a little more about yourself!

im sure i mentioned in my intro some time back but im an aussie in France as you would know i imagine and my hubby is french..just in the spirit of sharing lol!  Its been 11 years since leaving oz..i miss the sun but love europe!

thanks again  :)

You are a tease MM and in my eyes a star, whether it be a real star or just a Thermomix star, it doesn't matter, we all love what you do for us on this forum.  Now you have us intrigued though, how are we going to know you are in Australia  ???  I know, you are going to go around and meet every single one of us personally  :D :D :-* :-*

Less intriquing now MM!  Thank you for your intro!  8)
Definitely no one famous per se around my house.  :D
Although I was associated with someone well known nearly 10 years ago... that experience was enough to turn me off stardom for life!  ;)

I think the nearest I ever came to a famous person was meeting the governor of WA when I lived in Broome. Oh I've met a couple of footballers but they are usually more infamous than famous.

Lovely to read about your family MM. I can just imagine you doing the 'grand tour ' of Australia.  Headlines saying:
MM will be appearing in Perth tomorrow and Bunbury the following day. Sorry bookings to see him are all gone. :D :D

MM - would I be right in thinking that you started up this forum?  Did you ever envisage it becoming the huge success it is today?

I would imagine that if there were any super famous people that owned a thermomix that it would be their personal chefs who used the forums and checked out recipes, rather than the stars themselves, hehe.

I met Harry Redknap once while walking my dog - coincidently his dog had the same name as mine.  His was a British Bulldog and apparently Jamie and Louise also had a British Bulldog.  I had a Boxer which is part of the same group ....

I was also once given chips by Jon Pertwee ... Oh and I was on the news ...  :-))

Does any of that make me famous?   :-\

Just remembered DH & I appeared on 'Getaway' back in 1994 when Rebecca Harris was doing some segments for that show. We did a 5 day cruise up the River Murray on The Proud Mary and had a fantastic time - all for free !!  Haven't looked at the video for years, probably get a laugh out of it all these years later when I see how much we've both aged. That is my only claim to fame.

answering a couple of questions:

I have been in Portugal for nearly 15 years now. I met my wife when she was studying in UK. Then I left, and came to live in Portugal. It's a great country and anyone who comes and visits, don't forget to message me.

As for forum set up and success... The Portuguese forum was set up a few years ago, and I had a meeting with the owners, and they asked if I was willing to set up an English version, which gladly accepted. So I translated everything and started marketing a little. Then Thermomixer helped me out, by promoting this forum via his channels and Thermomix friends/contacts... From then, we have grown at a steady pace. Recently we have boomed, and it looks like this will boom even more. I never knew at the time that this would be such a success. The future looks bright...

As for famous people... well, Prince Charles and Lady Diana came to visit my school :-)

I was once on the news in Uganda....although I never actually saw it myself. Does that count LOL!!! The maid in our hotel said she'd seen me. I was cuddling a baby in the orphanage we were visiting when the cameras came in to film for a piece.
