Hi Knittercook, A trick I used after the demo was saying things like 'It's too expensive, I am going to cancel the order' because i was feeling  terribly guilty, while occasionally also saying 'It's a good thing I don't love expensive diamonds like most other women'.   A combination of disagreeing with me out of habit, and possibly realizing that some women do buy ridiculously expensive stuff that is complete useless, resulted in him saying 'Just get it'.   Me - 1, Hubby - 0.   ;)
By the way this does not work too well if you do love diamonds !!!!
Hope it all works out for you.

Thanks you have given me some wicked ideas  ;)

cgonsalv in our household we call diamond wearing and clothes shopaholic women, expensive to run LOL! Now I definately do not fit into this category so that is the ace up my sleeve, and the card that will be dealt when clinching the deal.

I just had to mention my Hubby's ridiculously large golf driver and his annual golf club membership and he didn't even try to put up a fight. ;) ;D

Does he use them as often as you use Thermie Chelsea??!!  ;D

I was lucky enough to have DH tell me that I needed to find out more about the TMX as he was sure that we needed one - scored big brownie points with that one once I realised it's potential!

I just promised more home cooking, less take out, and a less cluttered kitchen. That sold my DH on my Thermie :)

Welcome to the forum.

You'll get it. You just need to be clever & there are lots of tips provided here (I love it!)  ;D

It took me 3 weeks to convince my husband, even after he'd seen a demo. It got to be a sore point, but I got it in the end.

He was adament it was going to end up in the cupboard after the novelty wore off, because I really did not enjoy cooking - AT ALL!.

I'm still in love with it over 6 months later & use it more now than I did at the start. It has absolutely changed my life.

.. I better go - just gotta' check my Hot Cross Buns ;)

We were exactly the same. What sort of old car did your DH get Robyn?

Welcome! I am also a knitter cook, in fact I think I love knitting even more than I love cooking!  Once you get a tmx your husband will wonder how you ever ever lived without it, I cannot imagine life without ours now, and ditto DH!

Cookie I bought 2 cars in a week for him, I got my thermomix too. :D

he bought a old rare HJ panelvan in extreemly good condition, then a old EJ sedan a couple of days later.
(which he drives when he has time).
The panel van will take 12 more months till we restore it to origional condition.  We can't find another one is australia at all.

Bye the way, he loves my thermomix too.

cheers, Robyn

my DH said last night as he was enjoying the Chilli Beef meal that buying a TM was the best decision that he ever made  :-)) (This coming from the same person who I distinctly remember saying at my demo before the consultant came that I didn't have to buy one - which of course I did)

Hi everyone, been lurking for a while and have decided to register and become a part of this great community!

As yet I do not own a Thermomix but hope to change that soon, just have to convince the husband that I will use it and that it is worth the money, which we all know it is but.......

Anyhow in the mean time I am printing off recipes that I want to try and saving my hard earned cash  :P

Sorry but you can't convince hubby, thats why I saved my pennies for 18mths and bought it . When I got it home, he couldn't say anything because I had already bought it!. Now he see's it as a good tool.
Go Figure!!!!
