For anyone who likes French Laguiole cutlery (normally very expensive), House Online has it at 64% off at the moment.

Beautiful Maddy - I keep a nutcracker in my entry way all year round. I'm of German heritage and traditionally they are a symbol of protection for your home - that's why they bare their teeth.  :D

I love that symbolism....purchase justified then!    :D

I went to the Kitchen Warehouse this morning. I bought some Muscovado  sugar, some molasses sugar and another set of rings to cut scones etc. out. I bought plastic this time as my last ones the handle bent every time I used them I also had fun looking at things I could send my SS when I know who it is.

About one month ago Gert mentioned the Bamboo Village site, which I promptly went to have a look at and purchased some sheets.  I have washed them a few times now and kept meaning to mention them on here as a follow up to the purchase (but kept forgetting).  Anyway, when they are wet they are hideous - hard and horrible and, the first time, I was so upset about it as they were very expensive.  However, once they dry they are really silky and lovely, it's just getting over that hard and horrible feeling is challenging.  As an unexpected / unplanned bonus, they came rolled in a bamboo fabric bag which is perfect as a bread bag ... and it didn't cost me anything!

Did they shrink any and have they pilled at all.

Cuilidh, I have two bamboo tea towels that do the same, once wet they go very hard but when dry they are quite soft.  To hang them on the clothesline is like pegging a board out to dry, really weird.

They did shrink, Gert, but they shrunk for a very large size to the correct size, so that was perfect.  To date they haven't pilled and I am hoping that they don't.

Emme, I also got a couple of bamboo tea towels and they are lovely - but I think that they DID shrink as they seem quite a bit smaller now.  In addition I got two of the magnetic towels (I mentioned that on here at the time I made the purchase) and I like them very much.  In fact, whilst I was in NZ last week I got several orders to send some over to my family!

Rainbow how lovely to get the towels. What sort of van is it? It certainly looks lovely. You will have many happy holidays in it.

Nice van rainbow and your towels might be safer on public clotheslines having your names on them  ;D  Nice little gesture from the caravan people.
