Pet plan for accident and illness, and 1300 Pet Protect for accident, illness and routine care. They warn about out of pocket expenses despite insurance (same as humans) and to be aware that some policies don't cover recurrences of the same condition and pets aren't covered for pre-existing conditions. Some won't cover if the pet gets a vaccine preventable illness, even if it was vaccinated. Pays to read the small print.

Thanks Bonsai, very interesting.  These little puppies have been vet checked when purchased and insured from Day 1 so hopefully all boxes are ticked.

Bought a large cherry red Jackie bag and pod: http://www.reddogbags.com/bagpodsall.html  can't wait till it gets here. Will be good for everyday use and travelling

I recently bought this anti theft travel bag. Love it. http://www.bagworld.com.au/shop/detail/travelon-carry-safe-anti-theft-messenger-bag-black?

It can't be cut, has expandable pockets, every zip,can be locked, has a flashlight attached and can be locked to something when sitting in a cafe or restaurant. It is light weight and hold my mini iPad easily.

Also has an outside pocket which can expand to hold a brolly or bottle or both.

There are a few brands of anti theft bags on the market. Very practical.

Nice bags girls.  I only heard of those travel bags last week when a friend bought one for their overseas trip Gert.  Great idea.

It sounds as if your pets are as entertaining as you are Nikkit  :D
We all have our moments Judy! With a house / paddock full of animals there is always something happening here. And yes - love them all to bits. I can't imagine what I would do with all the "extra" money if we didn't have animals! And there is no way I am going to add up what that could be either!!

Choice magazine had a recent article on pet insurance
Thank you Bonsai - I get the Choice mag and didn't even think to look in there.

Gert - love your bag. Miss 17 is heading off travelling next year, so I think this might be the perfect gift for her.

Ooohhh love yours too CP. Might have to go shopping...again!

The bags are especially good for travelling in Europe. You cannot cut the straps either as they have  inside and are strong. I would keep a travel bag as small as practical. If you have a larger bag you tend to fill it therefore the danger of more things being stolen. Forget about travelling with leather bags as not only are they heavy but the straps can be easily cut.

There is a big range with Travelon including backpacks.

It would be a gift that would last forever.

Nikkit this link is really good for young travellers. It meets their needs and the bags are funky and functional.
My daughter travelled in Europe at 17 and used a crumpler.
She also has a school and now uni crumpler bag which is 6 years old and much loved.
The bags are Australian, beautifully made and strong and have a lifetime guarantee.
I would let your daughter choose her own bag as she will know what she wants and what suits her style!
It is great and scary when they travel young.
