Well I just might do that Hally!!

I don't know where you get the lights cheap after Christmas as many have sold out. We have our house lit (I'm a sucker for Xmas and DH bah humbugs it but does it because he loves me ) I have noticed that many retailers have already sold out of lights so I wondered if they must be getting smaller amounts in stock to start with.

I will gladly keep reading this thread if there are going to be some great light places added - though DH might ban me lol

I have done some on line searches, some places have reduced lights maybe shoukd start now.

Hally, try a electrical wholesaler for christmas lights, cheaper and better quality.

My whole back deck is full of lights and rope lights.

Nelson (brand) make some great rope lights, you just attach the transformer for outside use.

Hally I've had some success in past years at the speciality christmas shops that only open over the christmas period. In Melbourne there a few of them around - try googling.

Love chrissy lights on houses when done tastefully!  We have stalactite style lights all along the guttering of the front of our house plus all the front Windows have animated curtain lights across them... Looks even more pretty in the snow  . Some people put fairy light in their trees too but our dogs would destroy the wiring lol

Went to the coventry square markets today and OMG everything is soooo cheap.

Eg bananas 99c/kg
Cos lettuce 50c each

Much cheaper than my local fruit and veg and good quality too!

I've noticed that it has just opened Tasty. I may have to make a trip out there after the rush is over. What other stores are there?

Cookie - the quality of the fruit and veg shop i have been to twice is very good and quite busy. Not too much so though but crazy on the weekend.

Only about half the shops have opened but there seems to be a variety. They have clothes/shoe shops, indian grocers, those cheap shops like red dot type, massage, homewares, etc. There seems to be a shop opening every day.

I think i will go there regularly for fruit and veg though as it costs me toomuch from where i shop as i don't like the quality from woollies

After reading of another poster who had recently purchased the Gasmark pizza oven it got me back to desperately wanting a woodfired pizza oven. I've been researching them for years and would love for DH to build one into our backyard pool area but that is never going to happen and I've given up waiting so after a little frantic researching on preconstructed ones I could get before christmas and I would be able to play with it on the few days off after christmas we settled on this one. if anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated. We are all very excited to give it a go but unfortunately I'm working today, out tonight and tomorrow so it looks like our first pizzas may need to wait until boxing day. While not the clay wood fired oven I've always dreamed of, we are all very excited by the possibilities  so hopefully it lives up to our expectations.

woodfired pizza oven are a lot of work

1    have wood handy at all times
2    start the fire
3    spread the wood to the sides
4    clean the area where the wood was 
5    cool down if to hot with a mop
6    if temp goes down add more wood

 we are thinking of getting a gas one
