We have had this coffee machine for 18 months and the pump died on it today  :o :o :o :o :o

DH rang Breville today and bless them told us to return it for exchange. Gold old Good Guys allowed us to pay the extra and upgrade to this one  ;D ;D ;D

fair to say we were impressed with Breville's customer service today  ;)

yes we are a bit partial to our coffee lol and the jolly TMX always appears to be in use when we want one so decided that a coffee machine wasn't one that we would be parting with. Have toyed for ages about getting a fully automatic one but neither DH or I really like the coffee they produce so this one was the winner today  :D

I don't drink cola, but hubby said the soda stream one tastes like the no name branded ones.
I LOVE the ginger beer, and want to try the lemon & peach tea ones.
We don't buy soft drink often, but when hubby has been sweating all day on the tractor, he can a have a fizzie when he feels like one.  I guess it gives him a sugar boost  ???
I'm also thinking some cool flavoured ice cream spiders or slushies for summertime  8)

Don't worry, I didn't take it as rude at all. On cans, glass bottles and some plastic bottles we pay a refundable deposit when we buy the drink to encourage people & companies to recycle the bottles/cans rather than simply dump them in the bin. It works well and there is a secondary "benefit" of bin hokers searching for cans/bottles to return for money. Some of the bottles used (particularly the 500ml & 1L bottles used by the Coca Cola Company) are made of a harder plastic which can be pressure cleaned and re-used. Most people tend to buy crates of 10 1L bottles and pay a deposit on the crate and the bottles (but also crates of Fruit Juice, Fizzy Water, Beer and what not) and forward the refunded deposit into the next crate.

There used to be a similar thing in Northern Ireland a long ole time ago on class bottles but they stopped when I was a kid (late 80's, poss very early 90's).

One thing with Germany, compare to the UK, is they really aren't that big of shopping deals or BOGOF offers (Buy One Get One Free) so were in the UK you'd often get CC at reasonable prices in Cans you don't here. (Think like £1.99 for 12 cans, with BOGOF, compared to  €3.00 for 6 cans + deposit)

Love everyone's recent buys, do you need a licence to drive that coffee machine faffa?
Love the soda stream and all your other shopping Maddy. i would never have thought of using my pasta machine for anything other than pasta JD, I learn something every time I visit this fantastic group.

My little buy today

I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

I was surprised to win a copy of that book the other day in competition on Thermovixens blog (no rule saying you had to be in Australia so I figured what the hey it was worth a shot). Looking forward to trying some of the recipes in there.

Most of the stuff I tend to buy are CD's (nearly all are film scores from the past rather than current movies) though there are a few kitchen bits I keep meaning to get (meat thermometer, pasta machine, a non shaped rubber spatula for use in the thermomix as a left hander I find using the default spatula thing awkward, a large rubber pastry mat and a few other bits)

We are Nespresso lovers. We have two machines, one in the kitchen and one for traveling. They are quite costly in Australia so every trip i make back, I take one for a friend,  just bought one for my mom for €49.  They cost $299 in aus.  So that and a thermomix will make for some heavy hand luggage.

Xxx

Well its still 0.50 cents (euro cents, current exchange rates mean Aus $0.69) per can, you do get the deposit back as long as you don't throw it away. 500ml bottles tend to run between 0.99-1.50+ deposit, 1L bottles 0.89 - 1.99 + deposit. 330ml glass bottles (in crates from Drinks places) tend to by 0.59 + deposit.
