Maddy, I can just see you in this dress from Naughty Shorts. It's so 1950's and they're all the rage!

I bought myself a Global Knife, a large chopper. Unfortunately, the blade is getting rust spots on it, so I'm hoping to return it. I bought it from kitchenwaredirect.com.au and they're excellent, so shouldn't be a problem.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

I must admit the Ipad wasn't something I really looked into as I have a Macbook Pro and an Iphone, both of which I love and couldn't see the need for one, until I started to see the foodie mags etc that can be downloaded at a much cheaper rate than buying them and also reading on the forum here just how happy you all are with them.  Also like the portability for when we go away and want to keep in touch with our emails etc, sooo.........

Yesterday I ordered from Apple (and should be delivered tomorrow) the Ipad 2 in white (wifi & 3G) with the smokey dark grey smart cover.

To protect the back, I also ordered a Wallee case (white) which then gives us the option of fitting it to the wall if ever we wanted to, plus the Wallee glove for protection when carrying around.   :)

Good on you JulieO. I can't get over how clear everything is.

Having shopping withdrawals, but enjoying reading what you have all been buying. We are on a houseboat in Walpole since before Xmas back to Perth tomorrow.
I have been looking into getting either an iPad or the amizon fire, can't decide which to get. All ready have a kindle and an iPhone.
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

Was it cheaper ordering it direct from Apple Julie?

No Judy, same price, but free delivery by courier.  There's only 1 place here that are allowed to sell them and they are closed until next Tuesday, didn't want to wait that long once I'd made my mind up.  It was also quite possible that they didn't have any left in stock anyway and would have had to wait for a new delivery.  :-))  ;D

Yes looking forward to seeing what it's all about Cookie.  :D

The chef stand wasn't necessary, but has been handy whilst cooking, and keeping screen clean and scrolling with the pen.

they are addictive..mine is also white however for the covers my brother who works with their products ALOT suggested the belkin flip folio covers ..i found one in purple I got as the apple ones are very flimsy and light and dont protect the ipad much and with the screen apparently the slightest drop and the screen will break...and you can also fold part of the cover to prop it up if your watching a movie or dont want to always hold it in your hand...i got a purple one like the photo...

loving the mag apps alot lol...its been so long since i have been able to get some aussie mags..oh and love hte kids stories too...download a few of the stories in english for a change and the kids loved them...narrated or not and animated etc..fab  ;D

Oh wow Julie, that looks so gorgeous! I also have a MacBook and an iPhone and, like you, thought I didn't need an iPad. But, now I see that I would use it so much. I love reading and have thought about buying a Kindle.
I'll have to sell my Macbook so I can afford to buy one. It cost me over $2000 and I've spent a fair bit since on various programmes for it.

Anyone want to buy a MacBook?? :-\
