Thanks goodness for the $5 book shop JD, I don't feel quite so guilty! 

Goldfish - I'm glad I can't find their number - It'd be awful to go to a RBA meeting and hear about all the books the others had bought and then I'd have to have them as well!

This new book has gorgeous pictures, just loooove a recipe book with pictures.

I'm sure I have their number somewhere Nikkit. I'll keep looking for it. I think it is on a tiny bit of paper under all my cookbooks and cooking magazines.

My dad bought a veggie twister (or spiraliser) and I have borrowed it recently to make the zucchini pasta from quirky jo's blog. It works quite well and looks great. However if you put the vege in incorrectly, it's pretty bad as it cuts it into short lengths that don't look like spirals as too short.

Those things are expensive though.

Thinking of purchasing the Breville Fast Slow cooker this week or getting it for mothers day - I think there are a few people on here who have them now and would like to know how people are finding them. Also for those who have the NewWave 5 in 1, how different do you think they are to the Breville and what do you think of them? There are a lot more reviews for the NewWave and to me it looks pretty much the same but approximately $60 cheaper.

Wonder, I have the Nu wave 5 in 1, I love it.
For $145 it is great.

I cooked a whole chicken yesterday from frozen in 40 minutes.
Have not seen the breville one yet, sorry.

Well thanks to Hally and Fundj I just come home with a pasta maker , but on the up side it only cost $15, probably cheap and nasty but if I find I enjoy making my own pasta I might eventually buy a better quality one, and if I don't then it's only $15 wasted not $100 +
Now am I right to say that 100g flour to 1 egg?
What type of flour? And do I just whizz it all up in the TM?

Robyn, can you really cook chicken from frozen.  I always thought that was a no no.  I see now on frozen turkey roll boxes they also say you can cook it from frozen but I have never been game.

I have the new wave 5 in 1, the only difference I could find from reading the manuels was that the 5 in 1 will keep a warm cycle for many hours after pressure cooking and the FSC is 30 minutes and the 5 in 1 you can delay start the slow cooker. I wanted the long keep warm feature and  I went with the new wave BUT it took 4 to get one that worked! ( the company were very good and ended up giving me a free pizza oven for all my trouble ) BUT saying all that after using it for about 6 months, I do love the long keep warm feature but now my family prefers everything done in the pressure cooker over the slow cooker ( more taste in the same recipe than the slower cooker) I also have used the "soup" setting but think a single electric pressure cooker would be just as good. It is the most used appliance in the kitchen after the TM and the oven. I recently changed cupboards where it is stored cause I got sick of bending down to get it in and out.

My News Years Resoloution was not to buy any more cook books or food magazines apart from Donna Hay Mag.
This didn't last past about January 3rd. Today in Coles they had several cook books for $5 each and I couldn't resist.
