Wonder,

I came this = close to buying the New Wave 5 in 1 cooker when my old pressure cooker gave up the ghost (after more than 35 years). I made the sales assistant open it up for me so I could have a good look at it. It was smaller than my old PC and as I make lots of soup in winter, it looked too small. It also looked harder to clean. I came away with an 8L  Scanpan pressure cooker instead. It will last many more years than an electric one, and I love the larger capacity. I love my pressure cooker and use it constantly in winter. My bolognaise takes only 15 minutes to cook once it is up to pressure, but tastes as if it has been cooking all afternoon. I buy the cheapest cuts of beef and they end up as tender as can be.

I just bought a Breville Fast Slow Cooker. So far have only used the sear and the pressure cook functions. I previously owned a 10yr old Breville Express pressure cooker - I offloaded it and my slow cooker to my parents.

It is pretty straight forward and simple to use. The cookbook isn't as "tasty" as my Express Cooker's but that isn't an issue.

Have cooked a Beef Rendang and a Chicken Curry which both were lovely and tender as well as super quick.

I was able to bargain mine down to $150 from the local Good Guys but have seen them cheaper online.

Went fabric shopping for curtain material to make roman blinds for my son's room.  I've nearly finished painting it, and now have the blinds to make.  After 6 months of living in the lounge room, I think it's time he had his own room.

Maddy I thought my DW was a champion shopper but you put her to shame. The European economy needs a couple of you over there to single handedly drag them up out of their recession.

Great buys Maddy and that fabric is lovely kieramax. My son still has the Buzz Lightyear blind I made him 5 years ago, he keeps asking for a new one but I just never get around to buying one and there is no way I could fit in making one these days.

Did a little bit of shopping today. Pyjamas from Sussans, tunic, 3/4 sleeve t.shirt and leggings from Blue Illusion, skirt from Laura Ashley (to wear to High Tea tomorrow) and a set of sheriden towels.

Goldfish...thank you so much for the eBay link. Have you made anything with it? I was thinking that the shape could work even for quince paste.

Love the fabric keiramax.
