Would you believe I still had my instant coffee this morning!! Got up late after kids with friends over work me up three times until I finally read them the riot act at 3.30am and DH has come down with the flu, so between kids and a sick husband I didn't get much sleep. I'll have to work from home today as DH is too sick to drop and pick up kids as planned so will make a few throughout the day to start testing it out.

You will need a quiet time to read the instructions carefully on setting up your favourite brews. I love the macchiato latte  really strong and I don't  drink milk! The reason is that I have set it up so it is a lovely strong smooth brew with just a few seconds of milk. I also like how it is made with  really hot coffee. I don't bother with the milk jug attachment these days as I don't like washing it . I just put the tube into the milk bottle. Don't leave milk in the attachment too long in the fridge . I keep a small glass iunder the spout so when the machine rinses before and after it saves  emptying the drip tray.

Which one did you get jamberie? We have already gone through quite a lot of beans and milk. We are away for  a few days from tommorrow so not much more playing until Sunday now.

Wonder,  congratulations.  Good coffee is one of the great joys of life. We have a few coffee favourites.  Grinders,  deBella and from The Bean Barn in Ballarat.  I agree with Gert,  small lots individually sealed,  fresh roast.  Have fun trying many different types and working out what you like.

DD and I went out this morning and bought an iPad, a projector clock (Gert told us about them ages ago) and a couple of shirts. It is DH's birthday next week.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

We got the Saeco Xelsis... I put a photo on the coffee machine thread. Yes,  I like the advice about small bags, for both freshness and flavour. I'm very happy so far I haven't read the instruction guide yet,  just the quick start guide and haven't been disappointed ;D

I've been using Illy beans as someone told me they are fairly forgiving for beginners (and available at supermarkets until I get around to going to a proper bean shop /outlet).
