Nice obbie. I just ordered a new handbag from Peters and it is already dispatched. How is that for service?

Just received the August/September Donna Hay Magazine. This is the last of my subscription.
I was very excited when I opened it - a thicker, heavier duty cardboard cover.

I'm now up to pg 47.
33 of those are advertisement pages.
6 are the editor's letter, Donna's list of needs and wants (which I love) and contents pages.
8 pages of recipes.

Will see what the rest of the magazine brings but am seriously considering whether or not to renew my subscription.  :-\

Not worth it. Most of her recipes can be found on line anyway. I just thumb through it at the checkout.

I just saw the handbag in yesterday's email  and decided to order it late last night and it is already on the way. Also I bought a gift card for $100 paying only $75 for it so discount on discount. Noice.

Mcmich you have an Oroton for life. Nice gift.

How did you get a $100 voucher for $75 Gert?

Last month I got one of their emails saying it was a special for the day I think.

Myer does the same from time to time with their store cards.

Hi  Brummington,
The bags look gorgeous - but I am a little confused as to what they are used for.  Do you use them to actually store the bread in (like a bread bin), or are they more a way of displaying / serving the bread at the table when you are ready to eat it?

At the moment, I just store my homemade bread in a plastic bag on the kitchen bench.  Doesnt look glamorous, but stops it drying out.  If these bags are good for actually storing the bread in, then I am very interested!

Karen, I was confused too but I'm hoping I'm right in saying that it can be used for both storage and serving. I have bought it primarily for storage, at the moment I wrap my bread up in a tea towel and it lasts as long as we seem to have bread for. We have similar problems to Gert in that out bread goes mouldy quite quickly if wrapped in plastic (especially in the summer months). This is why all my home made bread is wrapped in a tea towel and all my store bought is placed directly in the freezer (I just get bits out as and when needed). So I'm hoping the bag will be a good storage device!

Thanks Brummington!  We dont have the same mould problems down here in chilly Adelaide - in fact we have possible snow forecast for the Hills where we live this weekend  :o :o  If I leave my bread out, it goes all dry and hard.   The plastic seems to keep it OK until it gets used up.

I will be very interested to hear how your bread bags go - please let me know!

I might even buy a bag or two myself - just because they look nice  :-)) :-))

I have now lost interest  in the bags. If it is snowing next month I am not coming. No way . Can't do it . Worst nightmare.

Dont worry Gert - it only very rarely ever snows here, and even if it does, only in a couple of places like Mt Lofty and Crafers.

I can guarantee you it wont snow in Adelaide or Hahndorf.

Although snow is a very good excuse for mulled wine  ;D ;D ;D
