The channel bags that we sell come from
http://www.internationalcatering.com.au/product/vacuumcooking-bags/
. If you give them a call they would be able to tell you who would sell them near to you. They have the recommended retail pricing on their website. I have a sunbeam vacuum sealer and they work well with it. They also supply the sous vide suitable bags that can be used at higher temperatures.
I had a bad shopping day today
. I've been waiting on a delivery of the vegetarian cookbook. I got the box home and they have sent me A taste of Asia instead of A taste of Vegetarian. My son is VERY disappointed as he went vegetarian a few weeks ago and was looking forward to trying out some of the recipes.....hopefully they will be able to fix it but we will still have another wait to get it delivered

Very disappointing for you and your son Stacelee.

That's disappointing, Stacelee. If you want a couple of good recipes to get you started, you could try the
Indonesian Chickpea Satay
and
Spanish Bean Stew
. I make both of these regularly, but there are also heaps of good, tasty alternatives in both the Vegetarian and Vegan threads on this forum.
As usual, Quirky Jo's blog is an excellent source and I have recently started using the Revive Cafe cookbooks a lot - they are based in Auckland NZ and the books are available from their website.

Thanks for the link JulieO, i was looking at that supplier yesterday and also looking at this one which is significantly cheaper but I'm worried about the quality and when I tried to call them the number rang out.

The ones I get are really strong and can be used in a sous vide which a lot can't (not that that would be an issure with you but they can take higher temps).

Thanks for those links. I'll get The Brat to have a look at them and give them a whirl. I'm not sure that I really want him in the kitchen after the mess that he left on Monday (although he did clean it up)
Shopping has been much better today....I'm getting a new Vegetarian book shipped and sending them back the Asian one, and an order came in from one of our suppliers with some play things for me...I now have another ice cream tub, steamer liners and ice cube trays with lids so I don't spill the water everywhere on the way to the freezer.

The 2 rehrucken pan's from fishpond a couple of weeks back arrived today. They were sourced from America and ended up being much cheaper than I could have purchased elsewhere. Haven't heard of the brand though it's "Fox Run". Now to make the cake!!

I find these 2 handy for what I need as I still have rolls from when I bought the sealer which are great for bigger things.

Thanks JulieO, I've just ordered bags and a roll of the bigger size. I'm keen to have smaller ones for homemade pies as I find wrapped in cling film they don't last very well in the freezer.

For anyone who regularly uses the varoma, I received some of these
http://www.donaldson.com.au/products.php?action=viewProduct&id=1917
parchment steamer liners today. They fit perfectly in the bottom tray and two of them fit fairly well in the top tray overlapping a bit with only a small gap in the middle edges. They already have holes punched in them to allow the steam through. I currently have pork buns steaming for DD and they are working well.

Staclee, i normally spray the tray with a little oil, do you think it makes a difference using the liners?
Decided after spending all the money on the ice cream maker that I really should buy an ice cream book so decided on "The Perfect Scoop" by David Lebovitz.

I love that book Wonder. I've made quite a few icecreams from it or variations of them.
