Some goodies I bought along the way during the Italian Food Safari in Melbourne. Had to show a lot of restraint fortunately for luggage weight. Lemon vincotto (a balsamic), salsa di pere (to have with cheese), braido brachetto d'acqui and some hazelnut chocolate to enjoy together (OMG it's amazing), pizza flour, cold storage bag, and an Italian cook book (not pictured as it's on my kitchen bench). Wish I could have bought back some fresh ricotta and mozzarella cheese, and some pecorino.

Don't you hate the lighting in hotel rooms Gert, even with every light in the room turned on it is too dark for me.

I have been known to take the bl##dy lamp down to the desk and ask for one I can read by. If it is screwed down I remove the bulb and take it to the desk and ask them to replace it with a brighter one.  The prices you pay for a room should include a bright light.

Online shock recently was buying a Jude Blureau Wholefood book off book depository and it's all in ounces. Have since looked in book shops and it's in grams for Aussies. Jude will end up a millionaire if everyone makes the same mistake as me as I have to buy the Aussie version now.

Also wanted to let you know that quirky jo's book is due for release on 5 May. Don't know how many recipes or how much. I can't wait.

If you do have a U.S. cookbook with cups, ounces and etc.,   Just use this Conversion Fix to get the correct measures.

I have several Australian Women's Weekly cookbooks that have conversion charts on the inside back cover.  Most of these I purchased in the late '80s and through the '90s.

Thanks for the date, CP, I knew it couldn't be far away.  Do you remember, many years ago, when we were all encouraging her to write a book?  I am really looking forward to it. 

PS  Just heard the rumour that it is going to cost $60.00 and, initially anyway, will only be available through HO.
