Oh hell Marina.  How do you keep your cool.
Our local IGA has hot cooked chickens.  They are more expensive and smaller than Woolworths.
However the the following day, they sell them cold for 1/2 price.  I bought one for lunch.  It was awful.  Will make chicken soup out of it.

Got the invoice for our new fire yesterday, a Nectre60 - it's the one with curved sides ... it's so cold today I am wishing we already had it installed!  We probably won't get any use out of it until next winter though!

That fire is so nice Marina, I love it.
I had dropsy today too and it broke the glass of my iPad, not the latest one but I use them both. I am still using it but will get it fixed.

Bad luck about the chicken Chookie, I bet it was very dry.

The fire looks lovely Marina.
I still use both my iPads too Judy. The older one more for recipes and things. I have Snap installed on that and save my recipes into that.

I bought the bread book I had out from the library. I managed to get it for $37 from Booktopia with free shipping.

Marina, we had a Nectre heater at Cherokee.  It would burn overnight so we were always warm. Great buy. I would put soup in the Le Creuset pot on a wire cake stand on top
Judy, it is easy to drop the iPad. They seem to slide around.
Cookie, just love a new Bread book.

The fire looks nice Marina, just what you need on these cold mornings

Cookie, that book looks interesting I might go and check it out.

Our chest freezer died overnight.I ordered a new upright frost free one today. We could have done without this expense but there is an awful amount of food I don't want to waste. It's being delivered tomorrow, of course at a price being a Saturday ! At least it’s in stock.
Well the new freezer I bought 10 days ago stopped freezing.🤬 Took me two hours on the telephone getting everything sorted out under the guarantee and how to proceed to get a new one. Fingers crossed the one bought 10 days ago gets picked up so I get a refund and the new replacement gets delivered.

How annoying and frustrating for you CC.  I hope it all turns out well for you and you don't lose any food.

That would really wind me up, CC.  Not only does the new freezer break down, but you had to spend all that time on the phone sorting it out.  It seems customer service gets worse every year - at work it is our policy to endeavour to respond to all emails and phone calls and we constantly get thanked for taking the time to follow up on customer questions and queries, even when they are not necessarily the response the customer was wishing for!  It all takes time, but it (generally!) pays off in the end.

Oh CC that is not good at all. Make sure you tell everyone you know what brand it was so that they can beware.

What rotten luck Denise, valuable time spent getting the matter sorted. Good luck with the replacement.

Oh hell CC.  That is awful. Hope it all sorted now.

Today I had some fun.  I bought a pile of Small paper Patty Pans ( for cupcakes) for Forum members who can’t get them. I will post them on if you will send your address. I bought one of those long postal cylinders which Ral will cut into sections.  This will prevent them from being squashed. Please don’t be shy as I bought plenty.

Very generous of you Chookie.  Forum members do take Chookie up on her offer otherwise she is going to have to cook lots of batches of cup cakes to use them all up!

Thanks Judy. Some coming your way as I have your address.
If I cook lots of cupcakes I will have to sample them and this will not be good. Please help me out.
