Thermie is ill!!!
«

Hi Everyone,
Hopefully you will be able to answer me before I wake up in the morning. I am a little stressed!!!
THe plastic bit that connects the bowl to the blade got stuck fast after cooking tonight. Ed gave in some encouragement and managed to get it loose so I could wash it. I then had awful difficulties putting the bowl back together again.
I am not new to this now and have not had an problems in the past two weeks. Am I meant to clean the whole base, blade and bowl every time? I thought I should keep everything clean.
Has anyone had such a problem and is there any way I can fix it? Or do I need a new plastic base mechanism?
Please help me!!!
Thank you everyone,
xxx

I haven't heard of that particular problem with Thermie Lee and I constantly pull my TM apart to wash it.I hope you get some advice from your consultant to what is happening to your bowl so you can breathe again.

That sounds terrible, but don't stress, that just makes things worse for you, Ed and Teirmie.
Were you able to completely separate the bottom grey part from the jug and remove the blade assembly? If so, just gently replace the blade assembly correctly into the jug then line the bottom grey part up (sometimes you may need to play with it a bit to make sure it is sitting correctly) then turn it to click into the correct position. Not sure if that will help as it's not clear whether or not you were able to separte the bottom part from the jug. Hopefully, as Australia wakes up, one of the more experienced consultants or users will come onto the forum and have other ideas and / or options for you to try.
Good luck.

Make sure you have lined up the parts correctly. They line up the opposite way to what I would have expected. Looks like you are an experienced Thermie user so this is not likely to be the problem but I thought I'd mention it, just in case.

Oh no, it is my fear Thermie will breakdown. I think I remember reading on here about one fusing together. Wait until Judy is on she will help. Try not to worry, it doesn't help.(although I know easier said than done)

Oh Lee call your consultant!!
I had one customer that had the same thing happen (by the sounds of it) and they replaced it for her.
I am not sure what happens or why as she actually took it in to be looked at (I just know it is fixed!!) but your base should split from your bowl and the blades easily ... as you know from the previous times - it is made to be pulled apart for cleaning.
Call your consultant and get it fixed before you go into meltdown
Big hugs to you and Ed

All good advice there Lee. Main thing is not to go into panic mode, these problems can be fixed and you have a very good warranty. I clean my bowl and blade unit after every dish but the plastic base that holds everything in place mostly only gets a wipe out each time as it is never dirty. How's it going now, did it go back together and fit into the base correctly? Have you been pulling it apart each time to wash? I have no trouble getting mine apart, in fact I think it is the opposite - after almost 3 years mine has become quite loose compared to my second bowl which is a firm fit as it should be. Maybe it was just a spillage that made the base stick in this instance but if you have washed it and got it all together again and still have problems, do what faffa says and ring your consultant. Good luck.

Oh dear Lee, Hope your problem is fixed quickly. I cant offer any other advise that is different to what has already been said. And remember don't panic as it can be fixed.

Hi Loves,
Thermie is still ill!!!!
After 10 phone calls to my consultant, she finally called me back and will meet with me tomorrow. Until then, unless Ed can "snap" him back into shape, he will take to bed rest until he finally has the strength to work once more.
He is tucked up in my bed, with the television on. I am lying next to him, holding his power plug, as he doesn't have hands!
Luckily, it is not an internal wound but more a surface one. I suggested putting Police tape around him but then Ed reminded me that was for a crime scene. As yet, I am still not convinced!
I will keep you posted I promise. Keep your Thermomixes safe, love them, I hope that this vicious disease is not catching.
Love,

You all look so sad.
Your consultant might lend you a second bowl Lee so you can start cooking again.

At least you are doing the right thing by Thermie and he still feels loved even though he is sick
I am sure once he is well again he will want to work extra specially hard because of all the love you have given him
