Electric pie makers and recipe ideas ;)

now I have to go out there and hunt around (after setting off a couple of bug bombs to kill the black widows that have taken established their territories during the past few months) to see if I can find it.  I've already had a look through the storeroom in the house and couldn't find it - although I did find some other things that I had forgotten about.

I probably would have bought a new pie machine instead of searching amongst the spiders

Still looking.  I have to get some help to get into the nether regions.
Set the bug bombs today and will leave the place closed up for a couple of days.  The young man who does my yard work has just started his fall college classes and won't be available to help me until the weekend. 
It's impossible for me to crawl over some of the stuff in there. 
I have footlockers (metal, Army surplus and cheap) packed full of books, two antique kitchen ranges that I had intended to refurbish, as well as some desks, file cabinets and a bunch of printing equipment that I used to use in my art work.  All bulky, all heavy and the shelves where I think some of my old boxed appliances are stored are behind all that stuff and I can't even get to the light switches at the far end. 
There used to be corridors in the place but those have gradually filled up - gads, I am such a pack rat!

Wow Andie it sounds as though you have a wonderful Aladdin's cave of interesting paraphernalia.Mind you good luck trying to find your pie maker in all that stuff.

As I recall, the pie maker only makes two pies at a time.  As I never used it I don't know if it worked or not.

There is a 4-unit pie maker currently offered with the Emeril Lagasse name but it has horrible reviews.

There is also a 4-unit Breville but while it has some good reviews, some are so-so and it is only available from Williams-Sonoma and the price is $99.95  and you have to buy a "pie lifter" for $12.95 to get the pies out of the baker without damaging the crust.
That rather annoys me.  For that amount of money they should include the pie lifter.

I am wondering what a pie lifter looks like.
I am using a wooden spatula which so far is fine.  I sort of just poke the edge with it and it loosens them sufficiently for me to lift them out.
 I made more pies today. The amount of pastry just makes 4 pies as you can see.
PASTRY Ingredients:
225 g        Flour 
1 teaspoon        salt
110 g        marg or butter
2 Tbs        water chilled
As you all will know, the secret to pastry is cold! Cold! Cold! I made the mistake of putting my cut out pie circles in the fridge for ½ an hour. This was a major mistake as they wouldn’t bend enough to go in the pie cavities. The first one broke so I had to wait for them to warm to room temperature again. I put in grated cheese topped with crispy fried bacon pieces and topped with an egg. I dropped in one egg and it was a double yoker so it over spilled the pie. It didn't stick though. I have made a note to myself to top the egg with some salt and pepper next time.

Yes Fundj,  The two plastic rings came with the pie maker machine so they are the right size for the pie pan.
They are not of a particular high quality. I will check around the kitchen to see what else is the same size ....just in case they get lost or something.

With such a specific utensil - for one appliance, I simply can't see why they don't include one with it. 
It turns me off both the appliance and the retailer - and it is a W-S exclusive - not available anywhere else.
