Maddy how can you get air flow from beneath when you have the basket sitting on alfoil - did you put some holes in it?

There is a gap between the base of the basket & bottom of the pan.  The heat source is from the coil above, and the fan circulates it, so it can still heat & cook food on bottom of basket.  The foil doesn't stop the heat, just to catch the drips  ;)

Yes Robyn. One day last week. here is the chicken wings we did the other day and we've done chips and loved them. A few other bits and pieces too.

All my chicken for KFC was skinless so  a lot of the crumbling wanted to come off. However it still tasted lovely. bZB yours looks lovely. I've found that soaking the dish, with the basket in it as soon as I have finished cooking makes it easy to clean.

Thank you, Cookie. I guess I was expecting them to look like KFC. Hahaha.

I usually let the basket and drawer cool down, before soaking with hot water and detergent. That seems to be the usual instructions for lots of other types of pans. The airfryer manual said to let the appliance cool down for approx 30 mins before cleaning as well.

I found mixing the oil in with breadcrumbs for chicken and aranicini made a big difference to the way they fried. Mine was very dirty after cooking 2 lots of marinated ribs on the weekend and I just put it all in the dishwaser and it came up perfect. I normally have left overs for lunch and am finding it fantastic for heating them up, today is left over lamb and chips - 3 mins on 180 and it was great.

I have gone and done the deed! Harvey Norman priced matched TVSN's price in white...so no waiting for the Air Fryer to arrive. Now to decide what to cook...

BZB I always let it cool down before I fill it with water and a squirt of detergent.

Congratulations Courton, you will love it.

Congratulations Courton, you will love it. It is really so quick to make a great meal. I made pork rolls similar to Judy's and cubed potato and sweet potato. No photo unfortunately. I was able to fit 3 rolls of meat (1 large and 2 smaller) and enough potatoes and sweet potato for 3 all at once directly in the basket. I cooked for 15 minutes then took the pork out to rest and cooked the veggies for another 3 mintues, I had already par cooked the potatoes while cutting up the sweet potato. I also steamed some carrots, zucchini, peas, cauliflower and broccoli in the microwave. All up it took 25 mintues to get teh veggies chopped, everything cooked and on the plates. Unforunately the meat was a little overcooked so a little dry but still a great healthy meal.

Well, I started slowly by doing the french fries as per the very poor recipe booklet. It was very good. The air fryer really needs a one page guide with times and temp for the most common meal or food items.  I feel as if the air fryer is at the stage TMX was a few years ago..very little guidance from the manufacturer.

Agree Courton. I just winged it. Chips, sausage roll and spring rolls for lunch. It looks pretty next to Thelma!
