Many years ago DD and I were at a Seafood restaurant on the coast and they bought us some Patagonian Tooth fish. Neither of us had ordered it so they took it away. They then came back and said we could have it as they didn't want to throw it away. It certainly has a velvety texture, we were very happy to eat it. :D

Cookie, it's my favourite fish. It's called snow fish in Cantonese. Can be ordered steamed or pan fried in restaurants back in Malaysia.

Too bad it has to be a treat as it's too expensive to be a regular for us

Made a small tomatoCharlotte in the AF.  Slices of onion , garlic, and tomato, topped with bread crumbs.  Baked for 20 mins/ 180, coved with foil, then 10 mins/ 200 to brown top.  Good.

That sounds good Chookie, I wonder if you could add zucchini slices too and call it something different  ;D

I made a little snack for tea tonight.  Not sure where I found the recipe, probably from one of DDs when I was down there babysitting.

2 pieces of bread, spread with crunchy peanut butter, remove crusts, cut in half and roll up tightly.  Wrap in bacon, skewer to hold the bacon in place and cooked 12 minutes in a/f preheated to 180o.

They were rather salty for me but with homemade peanut butter using unsalted nuts I think they would be better.
Of the different cuts of bacon I used, the streaky end is much better to use rather than the eye of the bacon.
I think they could be checked at the 10 minute mark, they would probably be ready to eat then.

I have been following this thread since the beginning and have been really strong , but secretly wanting one,   The Target catalogue  just arrived and they have the Phillips  Viva small one for $199 just went and had a look ....again.  At the size of the basket and think it will be fine for just two, the sale starts tomorrow and only one avaliable so I have put it on hold until the morning... Hum what will I cook first?

AB I think the price of the XL has come down, and I would recommend that you go for a larger size if you can. Even when I cook for 1 person, I may put a steak and chips on at the same time and it just fits in. I love it.

Thanks CP I have been thinking about it all night, the big one is probably the way to go, I might head off to one of the big stores for a look, the Good Guys have the small one for $229 so if I still want one I'm sure they will match price,I  think they must be getting rid of the small one everyone likes the larger XL.
