The cake came out of the tin but left about an inch in the bottom.  ;D ;D we have eaten the bit in the bottom, it is very nice. The cake then broke in half. I will ice it and cut the pieces to put on the plate, not put the entire cake out. Hopefully DH doesn't say "oh, is the the cake that broke in half?"   ;D ;D ;D


Gert it is the baking paper liner I didn't put into my cake tin to stop the cake sticking.

Sorry everyone, I was trying to split a comment from one thread to another and I've accidentally moved the whole of What's for Dinner tonight  :'( :'( :'(  Getting it back where it belongs is not going to be an easy task but I'll work on it.  Managed to get that part done now to split all the posts welcoming Mem to the forum.
Yay, success at last.  Phew, note to self - do not tackle these jobs first thing in the morning  :D

As part of the mushroom challenge, I made a portobello mushroom and cheddar crumble for dinner.  DH said that it was nice, but next time could I make it vegetarian. I looked at him quizzically as I'd served it with roast lamb, and then he showed me this:



A perfectly cooked caterpillar!
I replied that at least the basil and parsley were organic and fresh from the garden.
