Let me state at the outset that I'm not a morning person.
The kids liked Isi's Portuguese rolls so much that I thought I'd make them again, so I decided to start the loaf before breakfast. I picked the jug up off the dish drainer and put it on the scales, and measured in the flour. The problem arose when I lifted the jug and went to put it onto the base............


The blades were still sitting in the dish drainer and not in the bottom of the jug!
Flour went everywhere, but at least I hadn't added the wet ingredients......

Oh dear.  I do hope that is not an indication of the remainder of the day (in my book it usually is and you can only weather it through until bed time)  Did you end up finishing the loaf anyway.

My oops moment was yesterday making chilli jam/chutney; actually more of an ouch moment.
What I didn’t expect to happen was the reaction on my hands. I cut the chilli open and scraped the seeds out with my fingers and continued cooking. Sometime later I must have touched my mouth and then it became very hot and burning and even ice blocks couldn’t stop the pain. This went on for some hours and then my hands also started burning and to top it all off I forgot and touched my eye (this was after I had washed my hands many times); this chilli is very powerful and I had used the larger ones which are not supposed to be as hot. However, I liked the end product so will buy some thin gloves for next time and I also saved the seeds to plant. All is well now.

Ooh Troupie I've done that before, a painful memory! I use silicon disposable gloves now or use a knife and fork to tackle the hot chillis

I've only done that in a minor way by handling the chilli and it stung like crazy troupie.  Big mistake using your fingers to scrape out the seeds

Ouch Troupie. I touched my eyes once, they watered so much I really looked like I was crying.

I am dangerous around chilli. I have no respect. Always doing that stuff. Once I had to walk around half the day with a class of milk up to my lips. Couldn't talk. Well that wasn't such a bad thing but I could not do anything because I had to soak my lips in milk . It never stops me though.

I have only cooked meat once before in my thermie but thought I would make the beef and Guinness stew. Well, I put the onions and beef in and put it on reverse, SPEED 4! Why ....brain snap.....what ...... Mince mush!  Hopefully it will still make a pie filling.
