Chookie, I looked at your photos again and just realized that we have the same toaster.  The Breville is the long-slice toaster I currently have in use for toasting the log slices of bread cut from a round loaf.   I tried several before this one and none really satisfied my requirements until I got this one.  Toasts evenly and rapidly - I had one of the long Dualits but it took forever to toast and the toasting was uneven.

Yes Andi, it is good for odd sized bread,  and this is why we bought it.   however it cooks unevenly.  We have to turn the toast around 1/2 way through.  I use bamboo tongs to do this.

CC has sent me this photo of her kitchen - it was originally 2 rooms but they knocked the wall down and turned it into a galley kitchen.  Thanks CC, nice to see where you hang out  ;)

I wonder why some act that way.  I have seen reviews by people who complain about uneven toasting but my toasts evenly end to end but sometimes is just a bit darker on the outside.  I also have bamboo tongs for toaster use.

Great kitchen CC. LOts of cupboard space and everything is handy.

my parents have an amazing view and it is quite often misty..sometimes it even comes right up to the balconies.. here is a photo on a clear day when you can see the coast!..love my parents place..they have floor to ceiling windows right along the house and balconys the length of the house and off all rooms..

my view is of our back terrasse and garden...nothing exciting particularly at this time of the year when all is put away and its fairly empty looking lol

Montville JD (sunshine coast)...ive always loved it up there even before mum and dad built their place...only hassle is with kids (when we visit) its not the safest place to live as most of the houses (on the good side ie with great views) are on the cliff face (well very slippery slope lol)

the kids used to love throwing things over the balconys...they soon learnt that didnt make us very happy   :D

here is a pic of a distant view taken by the architecte for a magazine

Lovely spot.
Kids and balconies reminds me of my grand-sons current habit - putting things into the bin.  His toys, Grand-pa's tools, money at his place .... it pays to check the bins after he's gone  ;)
