The window is at least another week away and the electrician never shows up when he's meant to, so we could be looking at another month yet

My DH is an electrician Amy, and I can't tell you how long it takes him to get around to doing work here...
I think they are slightly better at showing up for PAID jobs though...

That"s always the way John, my Dad was a builder I don"t think we ever lived in a house that completely finished until it was getting sold.

They say nothing looks as good for the owner until the house or car is put up for sale AB and tradesmen seem to have more jobs needing to be done in their own house than anyone else. My tactic to get things done around the house Jo would be to tell DH you have organised for an electrician to come in to fix the whatever
