cooking classes

Hi, I get sent emails about cooking classes in Adelaide, and from what I can see, as they are called "back to basics" classes, they are for the intending buyers of a thermomix (as I understand). Do any of these classes realate to those of us who are more exp users, looking at new recipes, or for new tips/hints etc.? Anyone out there who has used a TMX for sometime found these classes useful?

I don't bother with back to basic classes pumpkin pie and neither do others I know.  From time to time they have special classes like the one for Polish Cooking at Semaphore some time ago - now, that  was something. No-one seems to listen to what we really want and that is probably why Tenina's cooking classes are popular when they come to town.  She has not come to Adelaide yet but I'm sure it is on her agenda sometime.  Just keep reading your emails and hope that one day there will be something different.  In the meantime you will learn everything you need to know from this forum.

Thanks Judydawn. Wow Polish cooking classes that would have been great as I had a polish FIL and DH and I love continental food. You are right, I have learnt so much from this forum, and the fantastic people who share their knowledge. I just need to keep on trying to catch up on all the postings that happen in just one day, and all the interesting back postings.

My News letter had all states included (I am in Adelaide also).
I agree it would be good to have some more advanced classes in South Australia maybe Asian or "In The Mix" recipes just to increase our skills. They would be well worth paying for. I have a really great consultant who is a great presenter and will answer any question I have but sometimes a small group class is a great way to learn new and advanced skills.

My rep emailed me about one coming up with a local chef one evening in the next few days. Couldn't make it though so I'm afraid I deleted the email. It was all seafood from the sounds of it (not my cup of tea) but would be good for many others. Maybe locals can ask their reps to try and get more details. Cost was approx $45.

i have a great consultant, too, and i think it seems to be the best way to go. the back to basic class is much like a home demo, and i much prefer the home demo because with my consultant, i know it's going to be professional, unlike some of the presenters in the classes. i can't beleive they charge for the basic classes, as well.

I just noticed they are advertising "Back to basics with a festive flair" classes on the website. Usually they hold one Christmas class in a central location (here in Adelaide it was in the city) so I'm not sure if these are the usual back to basics classes, it doesnt mention "for new owners" as it does with the standard B to B classes. Perhaps one of the consultants might be able to fill us in on this?

i went to the festive class once and was so annoyed - it's just the back to basics class with slight variations, and they charge more for it!!! i guess i had to go and find out myself. i was without a consultant at that stage. where's the annoyed emoticon when you need it?

Clare I also got that email today. Really great to see them organise demo's for us slightly more advanced owners. I'm still getting mixed messages from my consultant if the festive flair is the only Christmas class held this year, and if its for "old" owners.

I would almost be tempted to come from Vic to an Andrew Fielke class.  For my DH very special Birthday,  some years ago, I booked us both into the B and B that  Andrew and his wife ran.  As it turned out we were the only guests and did he make us feel special. Each night he offered us a choice of very different Australian food.  If Andrew is running it it will be very professional.  I think the menu looks interesting. Wish I lived in Adelaide.
