I have the Tefal Express and I love it. For me its a great combo with the TM I wanted one of the V Slicer ones to be honest they scare the crap out of me and a good one is alot of $$. I mainly use it for grated carrot bettroot and cheese it will slice cucumber and carrot and zuchini nicely but not  slice meat.  I wanted it for presentation for salads etc and it grates vegetables beautifully. The parts go in the dishwasher so its a really easy clean up at the moment I am using it everyday ( summer in Australia ) for me its a winner!

The Moulinex Fresh Express looks the same as the Tefal Slicer and is the same size. Moulinex is $111.00 and Tefal is $79.00.
The extra $30.00 would be worth it if it's superior quality. I use my Tefal about 2-3 times a week and so far it's been fine. Only time will tell.

I have a V-slicer, and it only cost me $12. I really like the look of those other things but this does the job, as I would only use about once a week.

I love the look of those gloves. I love my v-slicer but after slicing through my thumb nail I'm very wary of it even using the safety. Does anyone know if you can purcahse the gloves in Australia?

I'm certainly getting a pair, Wonder.  I only came across them accidentally on Amazon . .  . haven't been able to find them on an Aust. website.  Even with the Amazon shipping it'd be worth it just for the added protection - they've certainly received good reviews . .

If you Youtube both the Moulinex and the Tefal you get the same adds just different names I can only "assume " they are distributed under Tefal in Australia? They look identical.

Does the Tefal Express slice and grate potatoes easily?

I also had a look at those gloves and wondered the same thing Wonder.
I did notice that nsell make Mechanical protection - cut resistance gloves.
Look up http://ansell.com.au/products/transport and you can download a data sheet.

I love my mandolin for slicing potatoes, onions etc. For grating, I generally use the Thermomix.

Ditto!  Also love my global knife.

Hmm, the Tefal Slicer & Grater looks excellent. I think I'd still use my mandolin for slicing, but sometimes I want proper grated cheese rather than the little balls that you get with the Thermomix.

Best price is here

I know that Tefal is a cheap brand, it's Kambrook, but I've had a Kambrook Coffee Percolator and Sandwich Maker for years and years. They both would be still going if my son hadn't cooked the cord of the Sandwich Maker! The Coffee Percolator gets used every day and it's 22 years old.

Just found a better deal here because postage is a flat rate across Australia. The previous one I mentioned was going to cost $23.75 to post!

A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

EasyChip Multi-slicer model 2011 with AdjustableBlades  not sure you'd find this one in Australia but have you seen this?  $197 . . . ships from the U.S. for $US39. . .  with the two currencies neck and neck it's not too bad I think!  I've never seen these so thanks very much for the introduction!
