The first thing I made in mine by myself the next day after delivery was pumpkin soup.  I was sooooo impressed because it took less than half an hour to have hot, fresh delicious soup and the only washing up I had was my bowl and spoon!!  I have had my thermomix for 10 days now  :)

Did you have the air con on high or don't you mind soup in the hot weather?

I was just thinking the same thing - especially with all the hot weather we have been having. I struggle to make anything hot and  we mainly live on salads in this weather  :-))

Us too. I really can't be bothered. I was blaming the holiday and cold but both are gone now and I still feel the same. I am truly tired of the hot weather. It has been so consistent. We've broken all the weather records now, can we please have some cool weather?

he he he I lived up north for 20 years and my body has learnt to enjoy things regardless of the weather or I would have had to go without soups, casseroles, hot desserts, etc, etc for 20 years.  It was great actually, the thermomix didn't heat up the kitchen like the stove top would've!  Am having curry tonight, have been craving hot apple crumble lately.  Don't worry, I do eat lots of salad in the middle of winter, too!  :D

Fair enoough Cookie-la-la. I lioved in Broome for a bit so I understand. We always found we had to wear jumpers to the shops in the city during summer. But I am a true city slicker now.

I have horror stories of an English ex MIL, hot Christmas Lunches, 6+ months pregnant and having Christmas at Nabawa in a tiny 2 bedroom fibro house (Nabawa is east of Geraldton) *shudder* I still feel sick thinking about it all so heat and hot foods just don't do well with me even after living and growing up in Geraldton for 25 years  :-)) :-))

Don't you just feel for the early "pioneer" women around the world who only had solid fuel cookers to cook on, regardless of the time of year - all that heat during a hot summer and with long sleeved dresses on as well - we are so very lucky!

You are too right Culidh.  My dear darling nanna passed away only 5 years ago and she lived in a little old fibro house in Coolbellup but still to her final days was using a copper to boil her washing -- wouldn't have one of those new-fangled fancy washing machines, she was 92.  Luckily she did succumb to the "luxury" of an electric stove/oven and to modern-day cool, loose clothing.   ;)

And faffa, we still have hot Christmas lunch even to this day!

I have loved this topic, I am new to the forum (today) and am waiting on delivery of my TMX. Lots of ideas for my first recipe, think I will have to keep thinking but cannot wait till I can post what I have cooked first! Thanks for the inspiration fellow Thermo Fanatics!

Sorbet, sorbet and more sorbet!  I made it for anybody and everybody who came over to my house to visit. We ate sorbet everyday for the first week at least.

The first thing I made (which btw was only on Thursday) was Pumpkin Soup from the EDC, very quick and very easy and very delicious!
