5 in 1 multicooker

This probably a stupid question but did you leave it long enough to come to pressure? depending on what you are cooking and how cold the ingredients are it can take up to 15 minutes. If I have something with a lot of cold ingredients and haven't browned in it first to warm the bowl it seems to take forever to come to pressure.

Maybe another silly answer.
But are you turning the lid fully to the closed position.  Not just shut down, but turned as well to the locked position.

RosieB  closed and turned and in locked position, even had hubby go threw each step a number of times with me just incase it was me

That's a bummer thermo....unfortunate you received a faulty one...it does happen...but it sounds like the customer service was great, so that must be comforting.

Maddy so right, they went threw it with me every step,  and have already sent new lid already so good to know service is good. What are you doing Maddy  going to wait or cancell and  reorder?

Realistically, it's only 2-3 weeks to wait now....I really don't think it's worth the hassle of canceling, and risking not getting those flybuy points back......It's only going to get colder for a while to come  Yet

Maddy, I don't know how you can put up with waiting so long for it.
Reading all the reviews on here and you are still waiting.   
Mine has bee in use since it arrived, and had a yummy meal ready for us when we arrived home tonight.
Combined with the TC it is perfect.

I can also vouch for the service from the New Wave company.
I had a small problem with my spatula.  It wouldn't click together.
They immediately sent a replacement, no problems at all.
I notice the new one is slightly different and does not have the problem at all.
Seems they want to get a good name for quality product and service.

I can vouch for the fact that their customer service has been good.  I had a problem with my thermochef a few weeks after I got it and they were very prompt in dealing with my issue...they actually sent me a new base unit.  I didn't hesitate to purchase a 5 in 1 from them a couple of weeks ago (actually through homedepot) and I am very happy with it.  I replaced my cuisinart pressure cooker with it because it (the cuisinart!) had developed personality problems (must be catching.....my laptop is now doing bizzare things) and refused to come to pressure unless it had gallons of liquid in it.  The one of the same recipes that I couldn't cook in the cuisinart cooked beautifully in the 5in1.  Fingers crossed it will keep being good....its scheduled to cook a piece of silverside for lunch tomorrow.

I do find my 5 in 1 will click straight over to warm without getting to pressure if there is not enough liquid in it, BUT saying that I had 4 of them before I got one that worked, the first 3  had something wrong with it...at least as said before although the process was frustratiing their customer service was excellent !

Well my 5 in 1 came, really excited now I am frustrated, it has taken me all morning to try and get it to work, couple phone calls to the help line and still the pressure cooker won't work, I have done everything it says the timer just won't start, they are now going to send me another lid as they think it could be that not getting to pressure grrrrr has anyone else had this problem? The only thing letting off steam is me LOL

I had sort of a similar problem yesterday. My 5 in 1 has been working perfectly but yesterday it came up to pressure and kept turning itself off after a couple of minutes. It finally came good. Will have to give it another go over the weekend to make sure.

We cooked a 2.2kg wagyu beef roast in the 5 in one tonight and it was absolutely delicious !!!!Melt in your mouth. This is what we did.  We browned the roast on the BBQ first. I was very unsure about cooking time but was using high pressure.  I placed an upside down metal saucer in the bottom of the bowl and 1/2 cup water and then sat the meat on that. I put it on for 45 mins on high pressure first, checked and still blood oozing, so put it on again for another 25 minutes and checked again and then another 20 mins and it was done (no blood oozing, I like meat to be cooked not mooing !!!). 

We then wrapped the roast in alfoil and let it sit for about 20 mins.  It was a little like carving a piece of silverside, it just fell apart and was moist and the kids demolished it and kept asking for more !!! At least if I post on here I can look back and see what I did lol. 

Ohhhhh and we had yorkshire puddings, Master 5 and 7 had 3 each, they were very yummy too.

I haven't really read this thread through...mainly first page.......but was thinking of buying this for my inlaws for christmas as there is a great special atm. So....is it worth it? or is there another product you think would make a great present in same price rang ~$130??

I have one and I love it. My DS also has one and he loves it too. I haven't had any problems with mine but if you read the thread others have had varying degrees of success.
